The Steel Union Complete Set brings together all 12 resin miniatures from this grim, war-torn faction in one formidable collection. Each figure arrives as a physical resin miniature, supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for assembly and painting straight out of the box. Scale is approximately 32mm, and the level of sculpted detail rewards careful brushwork from veterans and hobbyists alike.

The roster spans the full breadth of the Steel Union's battlefield doctrine, from heavily armoured front-line troopers bearing shields and close-combat weapons to specialist ranged infantry equipped with automatic rifles and gas-masked heavy weapons operators. Characters blend medieval plate and chainmail aesthetics with industrial-era military equipment, creating a distinctive grimdark silhouette that sits beautifully on any wargaming table. Every pose is purposeful and dynamic, conveying the grim determination of soldiers who have long since stopped counting the dead.

Collecting the complete set gives you everything needed to field a full starting warband or to expand an existing force with varied unit types. The Steel Union models are compatible with popular 32mm skirmish rulesets, and their cohesive visual language means the whole force looks unified on the tabletop. Each miniature is cast in high-quality grey resin, capturing fine surface detail on cloth, armour rivets, weapon mechanisms, and facial expressions.

Contents: 12 unique resin miniatures, supplied unassembled and unpainted on individual bases. These miniatures are sculpted by DakkaDakka, whose work across this set demonstrates a keen eye for grim military character and surface detail. Super glue recommended for assembly. Primer recommended before painting.

Painting Guide: Steel Union – Complete Set

The following guide is designed to help hobbyists achieve a battle-worn, grimdark result that reflects the brutal world the Steel Union inhabits. Work through each stage methodically and allow each layer to dry fully before proceeding.

1. Prime

  • Apply a grey or black spray primer evenly across all surfaces from approximately 30cm distance.
  • Allow full 24-hour cure time before applying any paint.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat plate armour with a dark metallic grey, such as Leadbelcher or equivalent.
  • Apply Mechanicus Standard Grey to any fabric tabards or padded areas beneath the armour.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out rivets, buckles, and armour trim with a brighter silver or gold tone for contrast.
  • Use a deep red or burgundy on any heraldic symbols, shield faces, or insignia to tie the force together visually.

4. Weapons

  • Paint rifle barrels and axe blades with dark steel, then edge highlight with a lighter silver to convey sharpness.
  • Wooden stocks or grips respond well to a brown basecoat followed by a sepia wash and a fine ochre highlight.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a thin wash of Nuln Oil or equivalent across all metallic surfaces to settle into recesses and add depth.
  • Dry-brush edges lightly with Ironbreaker or equivalent to restore highlights and suggest worn, battle-damaged surfaces.

6. Bases

  • Apply textured paste or fine sand to the base, paint with a dark brown, then drybrush with a pale mud tone. Add tufts of static grass sparingly for a bleak, contested landscape effect.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
