Steel Union Ltn. Pachomy Zhukov is a single-figure, 33mm resin miniature, cast and finished to a high standard, arriving with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for assembly and paint. This commanding officer cuts a formidable silhouette in a long greatcoat, epauleted shoulders, and a fitted officer's cap, wearing a gas mask respirator with a coiled hose running across his chest. He arrives with a wealth of interchangeable weapon options across 17 parts, giving you the flexibility to arm him as you see fit on the battlefield.
The sculpt is packed with character and grim authority. Chains, pouches, and a cross-marked medallion hang from his belt, while his coat falls in heavy, realistic folds. The gas mask lenses and respirator tubing are rendered with crisp detail, and the officer's cap bears a carved symbol of rank. Whether pointing forward with a revolver and a bayonet rifle or commanding with a blade raised high, every pose radiates cold, unwavering resolve.
The kit includes multiple right and left arm options, allowing you to choose from pistol, SMG, dagger, revolver, and a selection of long rifles with bayonets and underbarrel attachments. A melee axe option is also included, along with a fist variant for a more grounded command pose. This level of build variety makes Steel Union Ltn. Pachomy Zhukov equally at home as a unit commander or a centrepiece character on your display shelf.
Standing 33mm from feet to eyes, this figure scales well alongside infantry squads of similar size. The resin captures fine surface detail cleanly, from the stitching on the coat to the mechanical fittings on the gas mask. Sculpted by DakkaDakka, this release continues the grimdark military aesthetic found throughout their catalogue, blending oppressive regime iconography with brutal battlefield practicality.
Painting Guide: Steel Union Ltn. Pachomy ZhukovThe palette below leans into a cold, authoritarian look that fits the character's commanding presence. Work from dark to light and take your time on the face and gas mask, as these are the focal points of the sculpt.
1. Prime
- Prime in grey or black for a deep shadow base that suits the dark greatcoat
- A zenithal highlight in light grey or off-white helps define the coat folds before painting begins
2. Armour Base
- Base the greatcoat in a deep grey-green or cold dark grey such as Mechanicus Standard Grey or Luftwaffe Uniform
- Layer up with lighter grey-greens, keeping the raised folds highlighted and the recesses dark
3. Trim and Details
- Paint epaulettes and cap in a contrasting dark navy or black to differentiate rank markings from the coat
- Pick out the cross medallion and chain in a tarnished brass or dark bronze for a worn, campaign-used finish
4. Weapons
- Base all metal weapon parts in a dark iron such as Leadbelcher or Vallejo Gunmetal, then wash with Nuln Oil
- Drybrush edges lightly with Stormhost Silver or similar to bring out the barrel and blade edges
5. Weathering
- Apply a diluted brown-black wash into coat folds and around equipment fittings for grime and shadow
- Use a sponge technique with dark brown on the coat hem and boots to suggest mud and hard use in the field
6. Bases
- A rubble or cracked earth base in grey and ochre tones suits the industrial military theme, finished with a matt varnish to unify the model
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
