The Steel Union Red Druzhina Squad is a set of ten physical resin miniatures, each one sculpted with striking detail and a bold fusion of medieval Eastern warrior tradition and grim futuristic warfare. Gas masks sit beneath fur papakha hats, chainmail hangs alongside tactical plate, and ornate shields bearing crusader crosses are carried alongside long rifles and multi-barrelled heavy weapons. The result is a squad that feels both ancient and brutal, rooted in history but twisted into something altogether darker.

Every figure in this set arrives already printed in high-quality resin, with supports removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for you to assemble and paint. Standing 33mm from feet to eyes, the sculpts carry impressive presence on the tabletop, with each pose varied enough to give the squad real visual life. You get riflemen, shield-bearers, a heavy weapons trooper, a robed axe-carrier, and more, giving you genuine tactical and aesthetic variety across the ten models.

The Steel Union Red Druzhina Squad suits collectors and wargamers who want a unit that looks unlike anything else on the board. The combination of Byzantine armour, orthodox religious iconography, and hard military kit creates a faction feel that is immediately recognisable and deeply characterful. These are soldiers who look like they have fought long and hard and intend to keep doing so.

Each miniature is supplied unpainted. Assembly may be required for some figures. Suitable for 28 to 32mm scale wargaming systems.

Painting Guide: Steel Union Red Druzhina Squad

This guide is designed to help you bring the squad's mix of archaic armour, heavy coats, and religious detail to life with a coherent and battle-worn palette.

1. Prime

  • Apply a neutral grey primer across all models to preserve the fine surface detail and give a balanced base for both warm and cold tones.

2. Armour Base

  • Paint chainmail and plate sections with a mid-tone steel grey, such as Leadbelcher or Iron Hands Steel.
  • Block in heavy coats and padded cloth with a deep slate or cold khaki, such as Mechanicus Standard Grey or Castellan Green, depending on the look you want.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out cross symbols and shield iconography with aged gold or burnished brass to suggest worn religious ornamentation.
  • Paint fur hat sections with a warm brown, then drybrush lightly with bone or cream to lift the texture.

4. Weapons

  • Base rifle barrels and metal gun components in dark steel, then apply a thin wash of Nuln Oil to deepen recesses and suggest age.
  • Paint wooden stocks with a deep brown, washed with Agrax Earthshade and then edge-highlighted with a lighter tan.

5. Weathering

  • Stipple chipping onto shield faces and armour edges using a sponge and a dark brown-grey mix to suggest heavy use in the field.
  • Streak rust or grime thinned with medium down coat fabric from shoulder seams and belt lines for a lived-in look.

6. Bases

  • Texture paste in a cold grey-brown, drybrushed with pale stone and finished with sparse dead grass tufts, works well for a wintry or ruined-city battlefield feel.
