The Steel Union Redemption Warbear is a hulking, battle-hardened beast clad in chains, a heraldic shield, and modular equipment packs, standing 18mm from feet to eyes and ready to dominate any grimdark battlefield. Sculpted with extraordinary detail, every tuft of coarse fur, every scarred claw, and every riveted armour plate tells the story of a creature forged for war and bound to a cause older than memory. The base includes shattered stonework and a crushed skull beneath its paws, adding immediate narrative weight to the model straight out of the box.

This physical resin miniature arrives with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, so you can move directly to assembly and painting. The kit consists of four separate parts: the main bear body, and three interchangeable saddle equipment options including a weapons crate, a supply roll, and a medical pack with a red cross emblem. This modularity lets you tailor the loadout to match your warband's role on the table. A round textured base is included. The Steel Union Redemption Warbear is scaled to sit comfortably alongside 28 to 32mm scale wargame forces.

The sculpt carries strong themes of military devotion and brutal utility. A large kite shield bearing a double-barred cross hangs from one flank, chained to the creature's haunches. The beast's mane erupts in sharp, blade-like tufts, and mechanical fittings have been bolted directly into its shoulders, suggesting a union of nature and industry that sits at the heart of the Steel Union aesthetic. The open maw, lined with heavy fangs, is frozen mid-roar.

Whether you are adding this model to an existing collection or building a new force around it, the Steel Union Redemption Warbear will serve as a centrepiece unit that commands attention on any display shelf or gaming table. Sculptor: DakkaDakka.

Painting Guide: Steel Union Redemption Warbear

The following guide is designed to help you achieve a battle-worn, grimdark finish that honours the brutal character of this sculpt. Work in thin, layered coats throughout for the best results.

1. Prime

  • Apply a grey or black zenithal prime to define the deep recesses in the fur and armour before applying any colour.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the shield, chains, and mechanical fittings with a cold gunmetal or dark iron tone.
  • Apply a mid-grey highlight along raised edges of the shield face and bolted plates to add depth.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out the heraldic cross and shield border with a muted silver or aged brass to set them apart from the raw iron panels.
  • Use a thin dark wash across all metalwork to fill the recesses and create a worn, campaign-used finish.

4. Weapons

  • Paint the weapons crate contents in a mix of dark browns and steel greys, with small rust-orange patches to suggest neglect.
  • For the medical pack, use off-white for the body and a clean red for the cross emblem to provide a sharp contrast point.

5. Weathering

  • Drybrush the fur with a warm buff or bone tone, working from the body outward to the tips of the fur tufts.
  • Add subtle rust streaks below the chain links using a thin orange-brown glaze, then seal with a satin varnish before final matte coating.

6. Bases

  • Paint the stone rubble in dark grey with pale edge highlights, then apply a light bone tone to the skull and finish the base rim in a consistent dark brown or black to frame the model cleanly.
