The Steel Union Voroshilov Brothers are a pair of battle-hardened clerical snipers clad in long ecclesiastical robes adorned with crosses and holy iconography, blending the authority of a militant faith with the cold precision of long-range warfare. Each brother carries a heavy long-barrelled rifle and is equipped with reinforced armour plates, pouches, and sacred relics, making them as imposing on the battlefield as they are at distance. These physical resin miniatures arrive with supports already removed, cleaned, and ready to assemble and paint.

The set contains two miniatures, each 33mm from feet to eyes, sculpted by DakkaDakka. One brother is posed in a standing firing stance, rifle raised and eye down the scope, while the other stands at ease with his long cannon resting over his shoulder, beard and mitre marking him as a figure of grim authority. A third variant pose is also included, depicting the aiming brother from an alternate angle with a medical pack on his back, suggesting a support or field medic role within the squad. The level of detail across robes, armour, chains, and weapon components is exceptional and rewards careful painting.

Inspired by a grimdark sci-fi aesthetic where militant religious orders field their most devoted warriors on the front lines, the Steel Union Voroshilov Brothers fit naturally into any grim future warband, kill team, or narrative skirmish force. Their robes, crosses, and heavy weaponry give them a unique silhouette that stands apart from standard infantry sculpts. Whether you are building a themed religious faction or simply want two characterful snipers with serious presence, these miniatures deliver on both narrative and tabletop impact.

Each miniature is cast in high-quality grey resin and is supplied unpainted. Minor assembly may be required depending on how parts are cast. Super glue is recommended. Paints, glue, and tools are not included.

Painting Guide: Steel Union Voroshilov Brothers, the Sniper Twins

The Steel Union Voroshilov Brothers reward a methodical painting approach that honours both the religious iconography of their robes and the battle-worn weight of their long-range weapons. Work from dark to light and take your time with the layered cloth to bring out the full drama of these miniatures.

1. Prime

  • Apply a black or dark grey spray primer to establish deep shadows in the robe folds and weapon recesses.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat armour plates and pauldrons with a dark iron metallic such as Leadbelcher or Iron Breaker.
  • Apply a deep grey or off-white base to the robes, working in thin coats to preserve surface detail.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out the crosses, chains, and mitre ornaments in gold or bronze using a fine detail brush.
  • Layer up the robes with progressively lighter greys or whites, focusing highlights on the raised folds.

4. Weapons

  • Paint the rifle barrels and mechanisms in a dark metallic, then drybrush with a brighter silver to pick out edges.
  • Add subtle rust tones around joints and muzzles using a stippled orange-brown mix.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a dark brown or black oil wash over the entire miniature, then wipe back gently on raised surfaces once dry.
  • Chip the armour plates with a fine sponge or brush using dark brown followed by a silver highlight above each chip.

6. Bases

  • Finish with rubble or cobblestone texture paint, a dark ink wash, and a drybrush of pale stone or bone to tie the pair together as a cohesive unit.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
