Steel Union Vityaz Murovets is a single-figure resin miniature arriving fully pre-printed, with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready to assemble and paint straight from the box. Standing 33mm from feet to eyes, this imposing knight-monk cuts a commanding presence with his massive two-handed greatsword planted at his side, heavy chainmail layered beneath broad pauldrons, and a long tattered cloak that flows dramatically behind him. His nasal helmet, full beard, and weathered face speak of hard-won campaigns and unshakeable conviction, while a skull medallion at his belt and a cross-engraved pommel hint at a warrior bound as much by oath as by steel.

The sculpt rewards close inspection at every angle. From the front, the layered texture of the chainmail contrasts with the smooth plate of the shoulders and greaves, and the belt fittings carry engraved detail sharp enough to pick out with a fine brush. The rear view reveals the full sweep of the cape, which drapes naturally with convincing weight and torn edges that suggest years in the field. Skull motifs pressed into the base scenery ground the figure in a world where death is a constant companion.

This miniature suits any historical fantasy or dark medieval wargaming collection, and makes an excellent centrepiece character for a unit of heavy infantry or a warband leader on the tabletop. At 33mm scale it sits comfortably alongside most modern 28mm to 35mm ranges without looking out of place.

Each Steel Union Vityaz Murovets miniature is a single physical casting produced in high-detail resin, supplied on a round lipped base, and shipped securely packaged to protect those fine surface details during transit.

Painting Guide: Steel Union Vityaz Murovets - Knight-Monk Miniature

This figure rewards a disciplined, muted palette that reflects a warrior who cares more about service than display. Rich steel tones, aged leather, and a worn cloak work together to sell the knight-monk aesthetic without tipping into over-ornamentation.

1. Prime

  • Spray with a neutral grey primer to preserve sharp edge and chainmail detail without obscuring the fine links.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat plate sections with a dark iron or gunmetal tone, keeping it cool and desaturated.
  • Apply chainmail areas with a lighter silver, drybrushed across the texture to catch individual rings without flooding the recesses.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out the belt fittings, cross engravings, and medallion in a warm aged brass or tarnished gold to create contrast without brightness.
  • Paint the skull motifs on the belt and base scenery with bone or off-white, shaded with a thin brown wash to sink them into the surface.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat the greatsword blade in a bright silver, then apply a targeted rust wash along the flat to suggest a blade that has seen real use.
  • Paint the grip in dark leather brown, highlighted with a mid-tan edge highlight on raised bands.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a pin wash of dark brown or sepia into chainmail recesses and armour joints to add depth and age.
  • Drybrush edges of the torn cloak with a lighter grey to suggest fraying fabric catching ambient light.

6. Bases

  • Paint the skulls on the base scenery in the same bone tone used for the belt medallion, then finish the ground with a dark stone or rubble texture to tie the whole composition together.
