The Coven of the Black Woods - Complete Warband gathers the entire forest coven into one set: 26 resin miniatures and 24 scenic bases, sculpted by Konstantin Velikikh and supplied with supports removed and cleaned, ready to assemble and paint.

Deep in the black woods the old faith never died, it simply learned to wear armour. Yaga rides her barrel throne above a nest of roots and skulls, the Master of the Woods moves antlered through the treeline, and a war conditioned grizzly comes behind them in bolted crusader plate. Around that core walk eight witch troopers, their elite sisters, the heavy support pair, and a chained file of prisoners taken from whoever was foolish enough to march into the trees.

Chosen so the coven works as a complete force rather than a shelf of centrepieces. You get three characters, two monsters, eight core infantry, four elites, a heavy pair and four prisoners, which covers every role a skirmish force asks for and leaves room for a narrative campaign. The two base sets carry twenty four scenic rounds across 25mm, 32mm and 50mm, enough to mount the whole warband on matching ground.

Cast in high quality resin at roughly 32mm scale, with sharp detail across fur, bark, bone and ritual markings. Suited to grimdark skirmish games, dark fantasy campaigns and horror settings, or to a display shelf. Plastic glue will not bond resin, so use cyanoacrylate superglue.

Painting Guide: Coven of the Black Woods - Complete Warband

The coven reads best in cold woodland tones with warm bone and rust breaking through. The guide below suits the whole warband.

1. Prime

• Spray a grey primer across all 26 miniatures and the bases, then check the deep recesses around fur, roots and cloth and touch up by hand with thinned primer

2. Cloth and Robes

• Block in robes with a desaturated olive or grey green, then shade with a thinned black brown wash so the folds carry from tabletop distance
• Vary the tone between troopers so the unit reads as a coven rather than a uniform

3. Fur, Bark and Bone

• Basecoat fur in dark brown and drybrush upward with a warmer tan
• Paint antlers, roots and skulls in a pale bone tone, then glaze the recesses with a thinned sepia so they look old rather than clean

4. Metal and Ritual Marks

• Basecoat blades, buckles and crusader plate in dark gunmetal, then edge highlight with silver and add a rust glaze where metal meets timber
• Pick out carved sigils in a thin off white so the occult detail reads clearly

5. Weathering

• Stipple a dark green pigment or thinned paint around hems and feet to suggest moss and forest damp, heaviest at ground level
• Add a few spots of dull red to bindings and ropes to carry the eye across the unit

6. Bases

• Basecoat the scenic bases dark brown, drybrush with a mid grey, then glaze the hollows with green to tie every model to the same woodland floor

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
