The Coven of the Black Woods brings forth the Noonwraith, a terrifying spirit of the deep forest that haunts sunlit clearings and brings madness to those who wander too close. This physical resin miniature stands approximately 75-80mm tall and arrives with supports already removed, cleaned, and ready to assemble and paint. Every sculpted detail has been captured with exceptional clarity, from the tattered, hole-ridden gown billowing at the hem to the gnarled fungal growth erupting from where a head should be.

The Noonwraith carries a severed head adorned with a flower crown in one hand, a grim trophy that speaks to the dark rituals of the Coven of the Black Woods. Her other hand grips a curved bone sickle, worn and ancient. The dress is sculpted with torn fabric and void-like holes across the torso and skirt, giving the impression of a figure half consumed by shadow. A second skull form emerges from the base of the gown, adding a layered horror to the composition. Every surface rewards close inspection, offering textures that will respond beautifully to washes and layered paint techniques.

This miniature is ideal for use as a boss encounter piece, an undead champion, or a centrepiece in any dark fantasy warband. The dynamic pose, mid-stride with the hem flaring outward, gives the model a sense of dread momentum. It pairs well with other spirits, forest horrors, and cursed creatures in your collection.

Supplied as a physical resin miniature. Assembly may be required for smaller detail parts. Paints, tools, and glue are sold separately.

Painting Guide: Coven of the Black Woods - Noonwraith

This guide is written for intermediate painters looking to bring out the full horror of this Coven of the Black Woods centrepiece model. The monochrome sculpt lends itself to both classic pallid ghost schemes and earthy, decayed forest tones.

1. Prime

  • Prime with a light grey or bone white spray to preserve fine surface detail across the tattered gown and fungal growth.
  • For a darker interpretation, a black undercoat followed by a zenithal grey mist works well to define shadows before you apply any colour.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the gown in a pale off-white such as Rakarth Flesh or Pallid Wych Flesh for a spectral appearance.
  • For a more decayed look, mix a warm ivory with a touch of raw umber to suggest stained, aged fabric.

3. Trim and Details

  • Paint the flower crown on the severed head with muted pinks and faded yellows to contrast against the pale body.
  • Pick out the fungal antler growth with sickly greens and ochres, using a fine brush to define each branching tendril.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat the bone sickle in a deep ivory, then wash with a diluted brown to sink into the curves and crevices.
  • Highlight the cutting edge with a near-white drybrush to suggest worn, polished bone.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a thin glaze of green wash around the torn holes in the dress to suggest supernatural corruption seeping through.
  • Add fine dark veining across the gown using a thinned dark brown to reinforce the sense of decay spreading through the fabric.

6. Bases

  • Texture the base with fine dark earth, dried grass, and small mushroom or root details to anchor the model in a cursed woodland setting.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
