The WarpLand Raider Warband – Battle Pack is a 20 model force sculpted by Taiga Miniatures, supplied as physical resin miniatures with supports removed and cleaned, ready to assemble and paint.

Twenty resin miniatures and a war host that answers to Manik, Chief of the Skull Riders. Armoured Iron Lords hold the centre, Morlocks swarm the flanks, Blind Lurkers creep ahead of the line, and a Wurm the length of your forearm comes up through whatever is left.

Chosen to cover the slots a skirmish ruleset actually asks for rather than to fill a box: a warlord, a mounted centrepiece, elite and core infantry, skirmishers, fast attack and a monster. You can field this as written, with nothing missing and nothing you will never put on the table.

Cast in high quality resin with sharp surface detail across cloth, armour and faces. Suited to skirmish wargames, narrative campaigns and roleplaying tables, or to a display shelf. Plastic glue will not bond resin, so use cyanoacrylate superglue.

The following guide is designed to help you achieve a battle-worn, grimdark finish suited to the savage aesthetic of this warband. Work in thin coats and allow each stage to dry fully before moving on.

1. Prime

• Apply a grey or black spray primer evenly across all 20 miniatures
• Allow 30 to 60 minutes drying time before handling

2. Armour Base

• Basecoat armour plates in a dark iron or gunmetal colour such as Leadbelcher or Dark Reaper
• Apply a second thin coat where coverage is uneven, keeping recesses darker

3. Trim and Details

• Pick out leather straps and furs using mid-brown and dark brown tones
• Highlight raised fur strands with a lighter cream or bone colour using a fine detail brush

4. Weapons

• Paint blades with a steel tone and add a thin wash of blue-black ink to push depth into the edge
• Wooden hafts can be painted in a warm brown and drybrushed with a pale tan to lift the grain texture

5. Weathering

• Apply Agrax Earthshade or a similar dark brown wash across the whole model to unify the palette and deepen recesses
• Drybrush armour lightly with Runefang Steel or a similar bright silver to bring out the highest points and simulate wear

6. Bases

• Texture with coarse sand or a ready-made texture paste in a muddy or ashen tone to suit a blasted wasteland setting

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.

WarpLand is a dark science fantasy setting by Gavriel Quiroga. The models suit any 28mm skirmish or roleplaying system, and the book is worth reading for the world alone.
