This WarpLand miniature squad brings five Iron Lords to your tabletop, the armoured slavers and warlords who crush The Grunge beneath their iron-shod heels. Where other factions claw and scramble for scraps, the Iron Lords stride forward in heavy plate, swords drawn and round shields raised, their authority enforced by violence and the ever-present threat of chains.
Each model in this set of five stands at approximately 32mm scale and depicts a brutal warrior of the Iron Lords in characterful detail. The set includes five distinct poses across a range of helmet styles, from horned Viking-style helms to spiked conical war caps, giving your warband genuine variety on the battlefield. Broad lamellar armour, studded belts, and flowing tabards hint at a culture that values martial dominance above all else. Shield faces bear boss rivets and skull motifs, worn tokens of the countless warbands they have ground into the mud of The Grunge. Whether positioned mid-stride in a battle advance or planted wide-stance in defiant challenge, each figure radiates the grim authority of rulers who answer to no one.
Sculpted by Taiga Miniatures and compatible with the WarpLand tabletop RPG by Gavriel Quiroga, these resin models are sharp and detailed straight from the bag. Supplied unpainted and unassembled on 32mm oval bases. Resin components may require light cleanup before priming.
Five models. Five warlords. One iron fist over The Grunge.
Painting Guide: Iron Lords (x5)The Iron Lords are soldiers of mud, blood, and iron. The palette should feel cold and grimy, with flashes of rust and old bone to anchor them in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of WarpLand. This guide suits any WarpLand miniature collector aiming for a battle-worn warband look.
1. Prime
- Spray with a dark grey or black primer to build depth in the recesses of the armour plates and fabric folds.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat all plate armour with a cold dark iron tone such as Leadbelcher or equivalent dark metallic.
- Apply a thin coat of black wash across all metallic surfaces and allow to pool in the rivets and panel lines.
3. Trim and Details
- Drybrush raised armour edges lightly with a bright silver to pick out the worn plate ridges.
- Pick out studs, belt buckles, and shield bosses with a tarnished bronze or aged gold for contrast.
4. Weapons
- Paint sword blades with a clean silver, leaving shadow at the fuller to suggest depth.
- Handles and grips suit a dark leather brown, washed with sepia to age the wrap.
5. Weathering
- Stipple diluted orange-brown paint at armour edges and shield rims to simulate rust and pitting from long campaigns in The Grunge.
- Apply thin streaks of brown wash downward from rivets to suggest rain and grime running through the plates.
6. Bases
- Texture paste or fine grit in muddy brown suits the bogland setting of The Grunge. Finish with a gloss varnish on any pooled areas to suggest standing water, then matte varnish the rest of the model for a suitably grim and grimy finish worthy of this WarpLand miniature warband.
