Morlocks (x5) are a squad of five savage, brutish humanoid creatures sculpted by Taiga Miniatures, each standing 31mm from feet to eyes and arriving as physical resin miniatures with supports already removed, ready to assemble and paint. These degenerative underground dwellers embody the darkest corners of a grimdark world, hunched and snarling, armed with crude clubs, bone-hafted axes, jagged blades, and long spears. Every pose crackles with feral aggression, from a wild overhead club swing to a triumphant spear-raised charge.

The set includes five distinct sculpts, each on a round display base, with the full group comprising 16 parts for clean, straightforward assembly. The detailing is exceptional across all five figures. Tribal rune-like carvings mark their tattered loincloths and wrappings, their faces are contorted with fury and cunning, and their musculature is lean and predatory. Whether used for dungeon encounters, underground skirmish warbands, or as enemy forces in a narrative campaign, Morlocks (x5) deliver immediate visual impact on any gaming table.

Sculpted with deep, paint-friendly recesses, these figures reward washes and dry-brushing techniques. The surface texture of their skin and crude garments holds ink beautifully, making them ideal for hobbyists at any skill level. Each miniature ships clean and ready for primer.

Squad size: 5 models. Scale: 31mm foot to eye. Sculptor: Taiga Miniatures. Material: resin. Multi-part kit requiring assembly with plastic-compatible or super glue.

Painting Guide: Morlocks (x5)

This guide will help you bring the grim, subterranean horror of Morlocks (x5) to life using a straightforward layering and wash approach suitable for beginner and intermediate painters alike.

1. Prime

  • Apply a black or dark grey spray primer for a strong grimdark base that naturally deepens recesses.
  • Ensure full coverage across all undercuts, especially beneath arms and around weapon hafts.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat exposed skin with a mid-tone grey-green such as Rakarth Flesh mixed with a touch of Orkhide Shade for a sickly, cave-dwelling pallor.
  • Apply a full wash of Agrax Earthshade or Nuln Oil over the entire model to settle into muscle definition and facial creases.

3. Trim and Details

  • Highlight raised skin with a lighter grey-green mix, focusing on knuckles, brow ridges, and cheekbones.
  • Paint tattered cloth and loincloths in a dirty ochre or worn brown, then wash with Seraphim Sepia.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat clubs and bone weapons with Zandri Dust, wash with Agrax Earthshade, then drybrush with Ushabti Bone.
  • Paint metal axe heads and blades with Leadbelcher, wash with Nuln Oil, and add a sharp edge highlight of Stormhost Silver.

5. Weathering

  • Stipple patches of dark brown and dried blood tones onto weapon edges and knuckles to suggest recent violence.
  • Add streaks of brown wash to the lower legs and feet to simulate cave mud and grime.

6. Bases

  • Texture bases with a dark grey or brown paste, drybrush with a warm stone tone, and add small chips of slate or static grass for a subterranean cavern effect.
  • Seal the finished model with a matte varnish to protect the paintwork and reduce shine on skin surfaces.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
