Blind Lurkers (x5) are a pack of five feral, eyeless predator creatures sculpted by Taiga Miniatures, cast in high-detail grey resin and supplied with supports already removed, ready to assemble and paint. Each figure stands approximately 32mm to the top of its hunched, muscular frame and crouches in a dynamic stalking or lunging pose that conveys relentless, instinct-driven aggression. The set includes five distinct sculpts, so no two models in your squad look identical on the battlefield.

These creatures suit any grimdark horror or dungeon-crawl setting where degenerate predators lurk in caverns, ruins, or subterranean voids. Their elongated claws, sightless faces, and coiled athletic bodies suggest apex hunters who rely on senses other than sight. Rocky crystal shards on several bases add environmental texture and narrative weight, reinforcing a dark subterranean atmosphere without requiring additional basing materials. The sculpt quality captures fine surface anatomy, visible musculature, and sharp claw detail that reward careful painting.

Blind Lurkers (x5) arrive in a protective pack. Assembly is minimal as most sculpts are single-piece, though a small number may include a separate arm or base element. Standard plastic-compatible super glue bonds resin parts securely. We recommend washing the models gently in warm soapy water before priming to ensure paint adhesion.

At 32mm scale these models integrate naturally alongside most modern skirmish and warband rulesets. They work equally well as encounter creatures in narrative roleplay scenarios or as a fast-moving melee unit in competitive squad-based wargames.

Painting Guide: Blind Lurkers (x5)

The following guide is aimed at hobbyists who want a fast, high-impact result that suits the grimdark aesthetic of the Blind Lurkers (x5) set.

1. Prime

  • Apply a uniform coat of black or dark grey spray primer across all five models, ensuring coverage inside recesses around the claws and face.
  • Allow to cure fully before proceeding, at least 30 minutes in a warm, dry environment.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat skin with a mid-tone desaturated grey or pale purple-grey, applied by brush or airbrush in thin, even layers.
  • Build up two to three thin coats rather than one thick coat to preserve sculpted muscle detail.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out the claws with a bone or off-white colour, shading the base of each claw with a diluted brown wash to suggest age and grime.
  • Dot the sightless eye sockets with a deep shadow tone such as dark purple or black to emphasise the vacant, unsettling expression.

4. Weapons

  • Paint crystal shards on the bases with a pale blue-white, then glaze with a thin blue ink to achieve a translucent mineral look.
  • Highlight crystal edges with pure white to suggest natural light refraction.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a full-model shade wash in a dark brown-black tone to deepen muscle recesses and add depth to the anatomy.
  • Dry-brush raised muscle surfaces lightly with a highlight tone two steps lighter than the base colour to restore definition after washing.

6. Bases

  • Paint base rims in a neutral dark brown or slate grey to complement the subterranean theme without distracting from the model itself.
  • Optional: add a small amount of fine sand or grit texture paste around the rocky crystal elements to blend them naturally into the base.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
