This WarpLand miniature set brings a pair of ancient, curse-laden totems to your tabletop, relics of a shattered age where faith and fear were carved in stone and offered to powers that should never have been named. Standing 65mm tall on a 29x29mm footprint, each totem is dense with stacked skulls, grinning faces, and occult sigils that hint at rites long since gone mad.

In the wastelands of Arkanar and the boglands of The Grunge, travellers dread these markers more than the ruins themselves. Raised by forgotten cults or left behind by Void-touched warlocks, totems like these are said to anchor corrupted ground, keeping the Warp thick and the mutants loyal to whatever dark congregation first bled upon their base. Some Skull Riders hang trophies from them. Iron Lords have been known to drag them behind war-columns to sow dread before a raid. Whatever their origin, wise wanderers give them a wide berth.

Cast in high-resolution resin by Taiga Miniatures, these models are rich in surface detail, from layered grimacing masks and cracked ceremonial headdresses to skull motifs and engraved geometric panels. Whether used as objective markers, cursed terrain, cult centrepieces, or altar pieces in a Void shrine, they add immediate atmosphere to any grimdark encounter.

Set contains 2 resin totem models. Each model is approximately 65mm tall with a 29x29mm base footprint. Supplied unpainted and unassembled. Resin may require light cleanup before priming.

These ancient stone idols reward a patient, layered approach. The goal is weathered, ominous stonework with hints of old ritual staining and Void corruption creeping through the cracks.

1. Prime

  • Prime with a flat grey or stone grey spray for a neutral stone base
  • Alternatively prime black and zenithal highlight with grey for instant depth on the carved surfaces

2. Armour Base

  • Base coat all stone surfaces with a mid-tone grey such as Mechanicus Standard Grey or similar
  • Drybrush lightly with a pale bone or off-white to pull out the raised carvings and skull details

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out inset panels, geometric engravings, and banding with a slightly darker grey to create visual separation
  • Use a warm sepia or brown wash pooled into recesses to suggest age, grime, and centuries of exposure

4. Weapons

  • Paint any metallic or ritual elements such as studs, clasps, and decorative edging in a tarnished bronze or verdigris tone
  • Add a thin green or teal glaze over bronze areas to suggest oxidisation and neglect

5. Weathering

  • Apply a thinned purple or violet wash into the deepest recesses around the eye and mouth carvings to hint at Void taint bleeding through the stone
  • Drybrush the very tips of raised details and edges with a near-white to simulate worn, bleached stone

6. Bases

  • Texture with cracked earth paste or fine grit, then paint in dusty browns and ochres to suit the wastes of Arkanar or the ashen ground near Doomgape
  • A final light drybrush of pale sand across the base ties the totem to its environment and completes this WarpLand miniature as a grimdark centrepiece
