Vornix the Eternal stands ready to dominate your display shelf or tabletop battlefield as a commanding dwarf mage of immense presence and ancient power. This physical resin miniature arrives supports already removed and cleaned, ready for assembly and painting. The figure depicts a broad, heavily built dwarf sorcerer clad in layered robes and a thick fur mantle, wearing a horned Viking-style helmet and clutching an ornate crescent-topped staff in one hand while studying a rune-etched tome in the other. The sculpt captures extraordinary detail across every surface, from the intricate diamond-pattern carvings on his belt buckle and pouches to the flowing folds of his heavy cloak.
The scenic base elevates this miniature into a true display piece. Vornix the Eternal is posed on a stone platform flanked by a gothic arch engraved with diamond runes and a twisted pillar topped with a blazing torch. The stonework base features detailed brick courses and aged textures, giving the whole composition the feel of an ancient northern stronghold. The rear of the miniature showcases the full spread of the fur cloak and the crescent staff head rising dramatically above the figure. Scale is approximately 32mm to eye level, fitting standard heroic scale bases and collections.
This is a single-character release, sold individually. Vornix the Eternal was sculpted by Haito, whose attention to surface detail and character design is evident throughout the piece. The miniature is cast in high-quality grey resin, capturing the sharp detail of the original digital sculpt faithfully. It is supplied unpainted and unassembled where applicable, giving hobbyists full creative freedom over their colour scheme and basing choices.
Whether you field him as a runic scholar, a clan elder of terrifying arcane might, or a legendary figure in your narrative campaigns, Vornix the Eternal brings a striking focal point to any collection. His detailed silhouette reads clearly on the table and rewards close inspection with layers of fine surface work across robes, armour trim, fur texture and stonework alike.
Painting Guide: Vornix the Eternal - Dwarf MageThe following guide is designed to help you bring Vornix the Eternal to life with a cold northern palette, aged stonework and warm torch glow to contrast the frost-grey tones of the figure.
1. Prime
- Apply a light grey or white spray primer evenly across the whole miniature, holding the can about 25cm away for thin, even coverage.
- Check for missed areas on the underside of the fur cloak and between the staff and body before moving on.
2. Armour Base
- Base coat the robes and cloak in a muted stone grey such as Mechanicus Standard Grey or Vallejo Stonewall Grey.
- Paint the fur mantle with a warm off-white or aged linen tone, then drybrush the raised feather-like tips with pure white to lift texture.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out the belt buckle, pouch clasps and helmet horns in a tarnished bronze or aged gold, then wash with a brown ink to settle into recesses.
- Paint the diamond-carved stonework on the arch and base with a cool grey, then drybrush with a lighter stone highlight for depth.
4. Weapons
- Base the crescent staff head in a deep steel grey, then layer up to a bright silver on the sharpest edges and crescent tips.
- Paint the tome cover in dark leather brown, highlight the page edges with cream, and pick out the runic engravings with a pale gold or verdigris green.
5. Weathering
- Apply a thin wash of Agrax Earthshade or Seraphim Sepia over the fur mantle and robes to push warmth into the shadows and suggest age.
- Stipple a thin mix of dark grey and brown onto the stone base edges to represent grime, moss and wear on the ancient platform.
6. Bases
- Drybrush the torch flame column with layered oranges and yellows from deep amber up to near-white at the tip to suggest a fierce, magical flame.
- Finish the base rim in a dark charcoal or black to frame the composition cleanly and keep focus on Vornix the Eternal himself.
