The Maw Beyond is a nightmarish, tentacle-wreathed colossus that emerges from the darkest depths of the unknown, a singular monster miniature that commands attention on any tabletop battlefield. This physical resin miniature stands approximately 75-80mm tall and is supplied with supports already removed, cleaned, and ready to assemble and paint. Every sucker-lined tentacle and gnashing maw has been rendered in exquisite detail, making it an instant centrepiece for any grimdark collection.

Cast in high-quality grey resin, this single large monster model sits on a textured rocky base that evokes a world cracked and corrupted by eldritch forces. The sculpt features a mass of writhing tentacles erupting from a dense, grotesque body covered in eyes, mouths, and spines. The sheer scale and presence of The Maw Beyond make it ideal as a boss encounter piece, an ancient horror, or a summoned abomination in any dark fantasy or sci-fi wargame setting.

Squad size is a single large monster miniature. The model is sold as a physical, pre-printed resin kit. Minor assembly may be required for any extended tentacle limbs. Supplied unpainted and ready for your brushwork.

Whether you are adding it to an existing force as a terrifying centrepiece or using it as a standalone display piece, The Maw Beyond delivers the kind of monstrous detail that elevates a collection from impressive to truly unforgettable. This piece was sculpted by Haito, whose work is on full display in every carefully crafted surface and form.

Painting Guide: The Maw Beyond - Monster

This guide will help you bring out the full grotesque glory of your miniature, from its pallid flesh to its glistening suckers and corrupted extremities.

1. Prime

  • Apply a grey or bone-white primer spray evenly across all surfaces, paying special attention to the deep recesses between tentacles.
  • Ensure the underside of the base and all sucker rings are fully coated before moving on.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the entire body with a pale flesh tone such as Rakarth Flesh or Ushabti Bone to establish a sickly, deep-sea pallor.
  • Apply a darker grey-brown to the lower body and base rocks to ground the model visually.

3. Trim and Details

  • Paint the sucker rings with a slightly lighter tone, then highlight the rims with pure white to give them a wet, fleshy sheen.
  • Pick out the eyes and mouths with a deep red or amber, then add a gloss varnish to these areas to suggest moisture and life.

4. Weapons

  • The claw-like protrusions and barbed spines can be painted in a dark ivory, then drybrushed with bone white to bring out their sharp edges.
  • Add subtle OSL (object source lighting) in sickly green or purple around any open mouths to suggest an inner supernatural glow.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a generous wash of Agrax Earthshade or Seraphim Sepia into all recesses to deepen shadows and add organic depth.
  • Stipple thin patches of dark purple and bruised blue onto the body to suggest contusions and corruption spreading through the flesh.

6. Bases

  • Drybrush the rocky base with Administratum Grey then White Scar to pick out raised edges and cracks.
  • Add a spot of dark brown or tufts of dead grass around the base rim to tie the model into your wider table aesthetic.
