Rustland's Wolves Heavy Raiders are the fighters who walk into a firefight carrying enough hardware to end it on their own terms. Four hulking, heavily armed figures sculpted by 42studio, each standing at 32mm, built to look like people who have survived the Rustlands by being the most dangerous thing in the room.

The squad brings real variety to the table. Two powerfully built male figures carry chunky, oversized weapons, one with a spiked cannon muzzle and broad armoured shoulders, the other with a boxy magazine-fed rifle and a knee pad marked with a faction emblem. Two female figures round out the four, one with long hair and a skull-stamped automatic, the other in a torn tabard carrying a ported muzzle brake rifle at the ready. Every pose is confident and deliberate, weapons raised or levelled, feet planted wide.

Each miniature arrives as a physical resin piece with supports already removed and cleaned, ready to assemble and paint. The detail across the range holds up well to close inspection, from the riveted shoulder armour and cargo straps to the belt pouches and worn boot clasps that give each figure a lived-in, road-hardened character consistent with the wider Rustland's Wolves range.

Supplied unpainted. Four miniatures included.

Painting Guide: Rustland's Wolves - Heavy Raiders

These figures suit a palette built around worn industrial materials, grime, and rust. The goal is fighters who look like they have been out in the Rustlands for months, not weeks.

1. Prime

  • Prime with a grey or black spray for maximum shadow retention in the recesses.
  • A zenithal highlight with light grey or white over the top brings out the sculptural detail before you apply any colour.

2. Armour Base

  • Base the leather jackets and trousers in a deep olive or dirty brown, something like Castellan Green or Rhinox Hide works well.
  • Shoulder and knee armour can go in a darker, heavier tone, charcoal grey or black, to separate it visually from the clothing.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out buckles, rivets, and clasps in a dull metallic, Leadbelcher or Gunmetal, then wash immediately with a brown-black wash to knock back the shine.
  • Knee pad emblems and chest details can take a spot of highlight or a light drybrush to draw the eye.

4. Weapons

  • Base weapon bodies in dark steel, then work up to a lighter metallic on raised edges only.
  • Any grip panels or housing can be picked out in a contrasting tone, black or dark rubber brown, to break up the metal mass.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a streaking grime effect from top to bottom on all armour panels using a thinned brown or rust tone.
  • Sponge chipping onto shoulder edges and boot tops with a sponge fragment and a dark brown, then apply fine rust spots with a detail brush on the most worn areas.

6. Bases

  • Cracked dry earth or rubble texture paste in ochre and dust tones fits the Rustlands setting. Finish with a few tufts of dead grass and a wash of dirt brown around the boot soles to tie the figures to their ground.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
