The Rustland's Wolves: Complete Warband puts the whole pack on the table: 32 resin miniatures sculpted by 42studio, covering every squad in the range, plus the weapon parts that arm the open-handed figures.
Supplied unpainted.
Out in the Rustlands nothing is built, only taken. The Wolves run as a pack: four leaders at the front who have earned the right to point and be obeyed, eight raiders making up the core of every job, four New Blood still proving they belong, four heavy raiders hauling the guns that settle arguments, four fire masters laying down the covering fire, four storm masters for when the fighting gets close, and four robodogs, cybernetic hounds that reach the target first and never come back hungry.
Chosen so the warband works as a full roster rather than a box of singles. Command, core bodies, fresh recruits, heavy weapons, fire support, shock troops and fast beasts cover every role a skirmish game asks for, with enough distinct characters to run a campaign where the crew changes between games.
Ten of the figures are sculpted with open wrist sockets rather than fixed hands, and the warband comes with 21 separate hand-and-weapon parts to fit them, among them pistols, shotguns, a grenade launcher, knives, pikes and steel pipes. The photographs show one suggested loadout; the parts are separate, so each figure can be armed as you choose.
Cast in high quality resin at 32mm scale, with sharp detail across leather, plate, cabling and battered weapon casings. Suited to post-apocalyptic wasteland skirmish games, gang campaigns and sci-fi narrative play, or to a display shelf. Plastic glue will not bond resin, so use cyanoacrylate superglue.
Painting Guide: Rustlands Wolves - Complete Warband
The Wolves read best in sun-bleached leather and rust, with one shared colour carried across the pack so the whole warband looks like it rides together.
1. Prime
- Spray a grey or brown primer across all 32 miniatures, then check the recesses behind coats, straps and the robodogs' cabling and touch up by hand with thinned primer
2. Leather and Cloth
- Block in jackets and trousers with worn browns and dusty greys, then shade with a thinned brown wash so the folds carry at tabletop distance
- Pick one pack colour, a faded red or wolf grey works well, and use it on a scarf, shoulder plate or stripe on every model
3. Skin and Hair
- Basecoat skin in a mid tone, wash, then highlight cheekbones, knuckles and the muscle on the bare-armed figures
4. Metal and Weapons
- Basecoat guns, plates and the robodogs' frames in dark gunmetal, edge highlight with silver, then stipple orange-brown rust into the recesses
- Paint the weapon parts before gluing them into the wrist sockets, so the hands and grips are easy to reach
5. Weathering
- Drybrush a pale dust colour up from the boots and hems, heavier than you think: the Rustlands are dry country
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
