The Legio Artemis Emissarius arrives as a single-model physical resin miniature, sculpted with an exceptional level of grimdark detail and ready to assemble and paint straight out of the box. Supports have already been removed and surfaces cleaned, so you can get straight to the hobby the moment it lands on your doorstep. The model measures 32mm from feet to eyes.

This figure cuts an imposing silhouette: a battle-hardened warrior clad in layered plate armour with ornate gold trim, a sweeping red cape, and a prominent fleur-de-lis icon displayed proudly on both belt buckle and helm crest. She strides forward with a heavy-barrelled pistol levelled at her target, her expression locked in cold, righteous determination. The rear of the model reveals an elaborate backpack array and a skull-adorned parchment banner, rewarding the painter who takes time to explore every angle.

Sculpted by DakkaDakka, this piece sits at the centre of the wider Legio Artemis range and works seamlessly alongside the Bellatrix and Eruptrix squads, whether fielded as a commanding officer, a champion, or a solo character piece on the display shelf.

The Legio Artemis Emissarius is ideal for painters of all experience levels. The large armour panels offer generous, smooth surfaces that take layered highlights beautifully, while the intricate belt, backpack mechanism, and skull details reward a more advanced approach with washes and edge highlights.

Painting Guide: Legio Artemis Emissarius

The palette below is designed to complement the rest of the Legio Artemis range and bring this commanding figure to life with a coherent, grimdark aesthetic.

1. Prime

  • Apply a grey or white zenithal prime to pre-shade the model and make subsequent layers more efficient.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat all armour plates with a cool blue-grey such as Mechanicus Standard Grey or a similar shade.
  • Layer up carefully with a lighter blue-grey, focusing on raised edges and panel centres, then apply a subtle highlight of near-white at the sharpest edges.

3. Trim and Details

  • Paint all gold trim with Retributor Armour or equivalent, then wash with Agrax Earthshade or Reikland Fleshshade for depth.
  • Re-highlight with Liberator Gold and a final thin line of Stormhost Silver on the sharpest corners.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat the pistol and mechanical components with Leadbelcher, then wash with Nuln Oil.
  • Drybrush lightly with Ironbreaker and pick out any lenses or display panels with a deep blue base highlighted up to white.

5. Weathering

  • Use a sponge and a dark brown paint to stipple light battle damage across the armour edges.
  • Add streaking grime effects to the lower legs and cape hem using a thin oil wash drawn downward with a flat brush.

6. Bases

  • Texture the base with a sandy or rubble paste, prime black, drybrush with light grey, and finish with a few tufts of dead grass to keep the focus on the model itself.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
