The Hobbit Hole Money Box is a charming and highly detailed physical resin miniature, crafted to bring the warmth and whimsy of a classic underground dwelling to your shelf, desk, or gaming table. Inspired by the cosy burrow homes of fantastical folk, this piece features a rounded stone-clad exterior covered in individually textured cobblestones, a circular wooden front door complete with a small ring knocker, a round latticed window on the side, a gently curved roofline, and a lush flowering green roof bursting with tiny sculpted blossoms. A coin slot is integrated neatly into the top, making this both a functional piggy bank and a stunning display piece.

Standing approximately 100mm tall and 110mm wide, this is a substantial and satisfying collectible. The level of surface detail across every face of the model is exceptional, from the worn wood grain on the door panels to the irregular organic shapes of the stone brickwork. Every petal on the rooftop garden has been individually rendered, giving the finished piece a truly handcrafted quality. The model arrives as a pre-printed physical resin miniature with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready to assemble if applicable and prime or paint straight away.

This Hobbit Hole Money Box makes a wonderful gift for fans of fantasy literature, tabletop roleplaying games, and miniature painting alike. Whether displayed as a centrepiece, used as a dice vault, or kept on a writing desk as a savings box, it brings a touch of storybook magic to any space. Painted or left in its natural resin state, the sculpt holds its character at every viewing angle.

This piece was sculpted by Herastone, whose design captures the charm and character of a fantasy dwelling in exceptional detail. Printed by Artifex Fabricatum using high-quality resin for crisp detail retention across even the finest surface elements.

Painting Guide: Hobbit Hole Money Box

The following guide will help you bring your Hobbit Hole Money Box to life with rich, earthy tones suited to its woodland fantasy character.

1. Prime

  • Apply a light grey or white spray primer evenly across all surfaces.
  • Ensure full coverage in recessed areas such as the flower petals and stonework gaps before proceeding.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the stonework with a mid-grey or warm stone colour such as Dawnstone or Rakarth Flesh.
  • Paint the roof area in a rich green such as Castellan Green to represent the grass and moss base beneath the flowers.

3. Trim and Details

  • Paint the circular door and window frames with a dark wood brown such as Rhinox Hide, then drybrush with Mournfang Brown.
  • Apply a warm cream or off-white to the flower petals, leaving centres in a bright yellow such as Flash Gitz Yellow.

4. Weapons

  • Paint the door knocker ring and any metal fixtures with Leadbelcher, then wash with Nuln Oil for depth.
  • Highlight metal elements gently with Stormhost Silver on raised edges for a worn, aged finish.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a Agrax Earthshade wash across all stone surfaces to deepen the mortar lines and add grime.
  • Drybrush lightly with Ushabti Bone over the stonework to pick out the highest edges and simulate weathering.

6. Bases

  • If mounting on a base, apply texture paste around the foot of the structure, paint earth brown, and drybrush with Karak Stone.
  • Add tufts or static grass around the base rim for a cohesive garden scene finish.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
