Grokk Brutelord- Commander in Power Armour

Grokk Brutelord is a towering commander clad in heavy power armour, bristling with brutal weaponry and the trophies of countless victories. This physical resin miniature arrives fully printed, supports already removed, and cleaned ready for assembly and painting. Standing at approximately 50mm to the top of his horned helm, Grokk cuts an imposing silhouette on the tabletop, making him an ideal warlord centrepiece for any grimdark sci-fi warband or battlefield force.

The sculpt captures every detail of a seasoned battlefield commander: a multi-barrelled rotary cannon dominates his right arm, fed by a spiked ammunition belt looping across his torso. His left hand carries a vicious mechanical claw. Skull trophies hang on chains from his belt buckle, which bears a snarling face motif. Bone horns and riveted spikes adorn his armoured pauldrons, and a tattered cape flows from his back. Two configuration options are shown in the product images: a standalone on-foot version and a mounted variant seated astride a heavily armoured beast companion, giving you strong display and gaming flexibility.

The beast mount is separately depicted in unpainted resin form, covered in overlapping scales, a ridged spine of sharp fins, and armoured plating on its flanks. It is a formidable companion piece that works perfectly alongside the Grokk Brutelord commander to create a multi-part diorama or a mounted hero unit.

Grokk Brutelord is sculpted by Atlan Forge, whose craft is evident in the depth of detail carried across every surface of the model. All pieces ship in high-detail grey resin. Multi-part models will require plastic-compatible super glue for assembly. Primer is recommended before painting.

The painted studio versions show a dark, battle-worn palette combining gunmetal armour with deep red trim, bone trophy details, and a dark green cape. Follow the steps below to replicate or adapt this scheme.

1. Prime

• Apply a black or dark grey spray primer over all surfaces for maximum contrast and adhesion.
• For the beast mount, a black primer works well to anchor the dark fur tones.

2. Armour Base

• Basecoat all armour plates with a dark iron or gunmetal grey, applied by brush or airbrush.
• Apply a black wash across all recesses to deepen panel lines and bolt details.

3. Trim and Details

• Paint raised trim panels, chest details, and belt with a deep red or burgundy basecoat.
• Highlight edges of red panels with a brighter red, then add a thin orange edge highlight at the sharpest points.
• Paint skull trophies, horns, and bone details with a warm off-white, shaded with a brown wash, and highlighted back up to pale ivory.

4. Weapons

• Paint the rotary cannon barrels and mechanical claw with a bright silver, keeping the metal slightly cooler in tone than the armour.
• Pick out ammunition belt links in a warm gold or brass, then shade with a brown wash.
• Add subtle OSS glow effects to lenses and eye lenses with a red basecoat, a small orange highlight, and a tiny white reflection dot.

5. Weathering

• Stipple a mid-grey over armour edges using a torn blister foam or a dry brush to suggest chipping.
• Apply a thin brown or rust wash into recesses around the waist, feet, and weapon joints to suggest long field use.
• Use a silver pencil or fine brush to add metallic chips and scratches to the darkest armour panels.

6. Bases

• For the on-foot version, texture paste or small rubble pieces work well with a grey stone and bone scatter scheme, matching the studio paint job shown.
• For the mounted version, a dirt and earth base with tufts suits the beast companion and grounds the whole piece on the table.
