The Dragon Dreadnought is a towering centrepiece miniature that combines savage draconic fury with heavy industrial war machinery, standing approximately 120mm tall and commanding the battlefield from the moment it hits the table. This is a single, large-scale resin miniature supplied physically printed, with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for assembly and painting straight out of the box.

Every surface of the Dragon Dreadnought tells a story of conquest and ruin. The front face is dominated by a snarling dragon visage with rows of bared fangs, surrounded by multiple curved horns and wrapped in heavily armoured plating etched with flame motifs and scaled textures. The torso is a brutal fusion of organic reptilian detail and angular mechanical bulk, with exhaust vents, riveted panels, and mounted weaponry built into every section. The left arm ends in a massive blocky power fist layered with modular plating, while the right arm carries a multi-barrelled ranged weapon ready to unleash devastation at range. The rear of the model reveals a dense missile pod array, additional armour panels covered in scale texturing, and a twin-cannon heavy weapon mount, making the model visually spectacular from every angle.

The legs are clad in feathered and scaled armour guards, and the base includes crushed debris underfoot, adding further narrative detail to this already imposing figure. This guide is designed to help you bring your Dragon Dreadnought to life with a battle-worn, infernal colour scheme that suits its chaotic mechanical nature.

1. Prime

• Apply a black or dark grey primer across all surfaces to capture deep shadow in the recesses of the armour and organic detail.
• Consider a zenithal coat of grey from above to establish initial light and shadow contrast before painting begins.

2. Armour Base

• Apply a deep red basecoat such as Khorne Red or Mephiston Red to the main armoured panels for a blood-soaked, threatening tone.
• Alternatively, use dark iron or gunmetal as a base for a more mechanical, corrupted steel appearance across the larger flat surfaces.

3. Trim and Details

• Paint bone or aged ivory onto the horns and teeth, then shade with a brown wash to bring out the carved texture.
• Use brass or tarnished gold on the etched flame motifs and decorative trim to contrast the darker armour plates.

4. Weapons

• Basecoat the power fist and ranged weapon in dark steel, then drybrush with silver to pick out edges and raised mechanical detail.
• Add spot colour to power coils or weapon barrels using OSL techniques in electric blue or sickly green to suggest active energy.

5. Weathering

• Apply Typhus Corrosion or similar technical paint into panel joins and lower armour sections to create grime and rust effects.
• Stipple chipping fluid or sponge-apply dark brown and silver to corners and high-wear areas for a battle-damaged finish.

6. Bases

• Paint debris and rubble in dark stone tones, then drybrush pale grey and add orange-tinted glazes to suggest heat-scorched ground beneath the walker.
