Da Starter Waaagh! is the perfect entry point into grimdark sci-fi skirmish gaming, delivering a brutal warband of six resin miniatures ready to terrorise the battlefield. This bundle includes one towering 124 mm centrepiece warlord in a hulking mechanical suit, bristling with rotary cannons and bladed arms, plus five 32 mm infantry boyz in varied combat poses, each loaded with chunky firearms, sluggas, and scavenged armour plating. Every model arrives as a physical resin miniature with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, so you can go straight to assembly and painting.

The warlord is a true showpiece. Standing 124 mm from base to top, the mechanical frame is covered in riveted plating, exhaust pipes, chain details, and skull trophies. A goblin spotter clings to the top of the suit, adding a fantastic secondary character to the model. The infantry unit stands 32 mm from feet to eyes and features five unique sculpts, giving your skirmish squad immediate visual variety and battlefield presence.

The entire warband was sculpted by DakkaDakka, whose work brings every grimy detail of these brutal warriors vividly to life.

Da Starter Waaagh! is designed for use with OPR Grimdark Future and other compatible 28 mm to 32 mm scale sci-fi skirmish rulesets. The models are cast in high-detail grey resin, capturing every glyph, rivet, and bared tooth with exceptional clarity. Whether you are building your first warband or expanding an existing collection, this bundle offers outstanding value and instant battlefield impact.

Models ship unassembled and unpainted. Super glue is recommended for assembly. For best results, wash parts in warm soapy water and allow to dry fully before priming.

Painting Guide: Da Starter Waaagh! – Space Orks Skirmish Bundle | OPR Grimdark Future

This guide will help you get your warband table-ready with a classic grimdark colour scheme, combining red and black armour with green skin tones and heavily weathered metal.

1. Prime

  • Apply a black spray primer across all models as your base coat, ensuring full coverage in all recesses.
  • For the warlord, prime in sections if needed due to the model's size and complex geometry.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat armour panels in a deep red using a medium drybrush or layering brush.
  • Apply black to shoulder pads, knee guards, and secondary armour sections to create visual contrast.

3. Trim and Details

  • Paint skin areas with a mid-green base, then highlight up through a lighter yellow-green on raised muscle surfaces.
  • Add bone or off-white to skull trophies, teeth, and any animal horns on the warlord's frame.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat all metal weapon parts in a dark gunmetal grey, then drybrush with a bright silver.
  • Pick out any ammunition belts or shells in a brass or bronze tone for contrast.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a brown or black wash across all metal and armour surfaces to settle into recesses and add depth.
  • Dab orange-brown stippling across armour edges to simulate rust and battle damage.

6. Bases

  • Apply texture paste or fine sand in a grey-brown tone to suggest rubble and ash-covered ground.
  • Finish with a light drybrush of pale grey and add a few scattered shell casings or small stones for character.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
