The following guide is designed to help you achieve a dark, battle-worn finish that suits the grim tone of Assassin Ashen Lynx and complements the intricate armour and weaponry sculpted across the figure.

1. Prime

• Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black spray primer across the entire model, paying close attention to the underside of the cape and the recesses behind the leg armour plates.
• Allow to cure fully before proceeding. A zenithal highlight with white primer from above can help pre-shade the upper surfaces.

2. Armour Base

• Basecoat all armour panels with a dark grey such as Mechanicus Standard Grey or a similar mid-tone.
• Apply a thinned black contrast or shade wash into every recess to define the panel lines and skull details throughout the legs and torso.

3. Trim and Details

• Paint trim, rivets, and small mechanical fittings in a dark bronze or aged gold, then shade with a brown wash to give an oxidised, ancient feel.
• Pick out skull motifs in bone or off-white, then glaze lightly with a yellow-brown wash to add age and grime.

4. Weapons

• Basecoat the sniper rifle barrel and receiver in a dark metallic such as Leadbelcher, then wash with Nuln Oil for depth.
• Drybrush the raised edges of the barrel lightly with Ironbreaker or a bright silver to simulate worn metal and handling marks.

5. Weathering

• Apply small chips and scratches using the sponge technique with a dark brown basecoat, followed by a silver highlight directly above each chip mark.
• Use thinned brown oil paint as streaking grime along vertical armour surfaces, wiping downward with a flat brush dampened in mineral spirits.

6. Bases

• The model arrives on a round display base. Texture it with fine sand or cork rubble, prime black, drybrush grey and light stone, then finish with a tufts and pigment powder blend to match a desolate warzone environment.
