Zula arrives as a 75mm physical resin miniature sculpted from Print Fantasy's range, depicting a fierce tribal shaman warrior caught mid-battle cry, raw fury etched across every line of her face and posture. One hand drives forward a bone-handled blade, knuckles tight and arm coiled with intent, while the other holds aloft a tall wooden staff crowned with a grinning skull and bound with feathers, the mark of a practitioner who walks the line between the living and the dead. Dreadlocks whip back from her open, screaming mouth, and a mantle of feathers sits across her shoulders like a cloak of earned trophies. Layered wraps, a studded belt, and cord-bound greaves speak of a warrior who has dressed for survival across countless dangerous territories. She stands on a sculpted rocky base that grounds her in a wild and unforgiving world.
Supplied unpainted.
The miniature arrives ready to assemble and paint, with supports already removed and the surface cleaned back for a smooth start. At 75mm scale, the detail across her textured clothing, the carved wood grain of the staff, the individual feather strands, and the skull topper is crisp and defined throughout, giving painters plenty of surface to work with at every skill level.
Zula is a commanding centrepiece figure for any collection focused on shamanic, tribal, or dark fantasy themes, and her dynamic pose and expressive face make her a strong candidate for a display plinth as much as a gaming table.
This piece was designed by Print Fantasy, whose 75mm range consistently rewards painters with rich sculpted texture and strong character work across every release.
Painting Guide: ZulaThis guide is written for painters working in acrylics on a 75mm resin miniature. The large scale rewards layering and blending, so take your time on the skin and textiles especially.
1. Prime
- Apply a neutral grey primer across the whole miniature to reveal surface detail evenly before committing to a colour scheme.
- A zenithal highlight in white or light grey over the grey base will give you a natural light map to work from on the skin and cloth.
2. Armour Base
- Block in the leather wraps and belt with a warm mid-brown such as Rhinox Hide or Doombull Brown, leaving the recesses dark.
- Layer up with a lighter tan on raised surfaces, then glaze with a brown wash to unify the tones and push depth back into the creases.
3. Trim and Details
- Paint the feathers across her shoulders and staff with a base of dark grey, then dry brush upward through pale grey to off-white at the tips to suggest natural variation.
- Pick out the beads, cord bindings, and necklace in warm bone or aged ivory, washing with a sepia tone to settle them into their surroundings.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat the blade in dark metal, highlight with a brighter silver on the edge only, then apply a rust or verdigris spot effect toward the spine for a used, well-travelled look.
- Treat the skull topper with pale bone, shade deeply into the eye sockets and nasal cavity with dark brown, and pick out the teeth separately in near-white.
5. Weathering
- Add thin streaks of dark brown from the blade toward the hand to suggest dried staining on the metal and wrapping.
- Stipple a little chipped texture onto the leather using a torn blister pack sponge and a mid-brown, then re-highlight lightly over the chips to keep them readable.
6. Bases
- Paint the rocky base in dark grey, dry brush with successive lighter greys up to near-white on the highest edges, then add a spot of moss texture or static grass tucked into the cracks to anchor her in a wild landscape.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
