Warriors in War returns with Special 1, figure F1, a single resin miniature standing at an imposing 80mm tall and cast in high-detail grey resin. This celestial warrior angel surges forward with massive feathered wings spread wide, a serrated polearm gripped in one hand, and orbiting bladed shards frozen mid-flight around her form. Every feather, buckle, and edge has been resolved at collector grade, making her a commanding centrepiece for any fantasy display shelf or RPG encounter.

This physical miniature arrives with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for assembly of any separate wing or weapon components and then straight into your painting queue. The sculpt was designed by Luis Donaldo Meja and belongs to the Warriors in War range, celebrating the warriors, angels, and fallen champions of dark fantasy lore. She suits Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, and any grimdark fantasy tabletop system that calls for a divine or corrupted celestial figure.

At 80mm the model towers over standard 32mm heroic scale pieces, giving painters a generous canvas to push their blending and freehand skills. The deep feather texture across the wings rewards layering and dry-brushing techniques, while the sleek armour panels and flowing cloth sections offer clear contrast zones for light sources and edge highlights. The floating bladed shards and rocky base add further texture detail that rewards washes and stippling. This figure was sculpted by Luis Donaldo Meza, whose eye for dynamic pose and surface texture is evident across every element of the piece.

Warriors in War miniatures are designed for the serious adult hobbyist who wants a showpiece that stands apart from standard rank-and-file kits. This figure is sold individually and is supplied unpainted.

Painting Guide: Warriors in War Special 1 F1 Angel Warrior 80mm Resin Figurine

This guide walks you through a celestial-turned-grimdark scheme that matches the dark feathered wings and battle-worn armour visible in the sculpt.

1. Prime

  • Apply a zenithal prime using black from below and white or pale grey from directly above to establish your light source immediately.
  • A light misting of mid-grey over the zenith pass helps the resin feather detail read clearly before any colour is applied.

2. Armour Base

  • Base coat all armour panels in a cold silver-grey such as Vallejo Neutral Grey or a dark metallic base like Leadbelcher.
  • Apply a thin coat of a blue-tinged silver over raised armour edges to suggest cold celestial metal.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out the spiked trim, leg guards, and chest details with a brighter silver or pale gold to create visual separation from the main armour body.
  • Glaze the recesses around trim pieces with a diluted blue-black ink to push depth into the sculpt.

4. Weapons

  • Paint the polearm shaft in a deep iron tone and dry-brush the blade edges with bright silver for a worn, battle-used look.
  • Add a faint verdigris glaze into deep cuts on the blade to suggest age and divine corruption.

5. Weathering

  • Stipple chipping on armour plates using a torn blister foam and a dark brown-black mix, concentrating on edges and lower surfaces.
  • Wash the entire figure with a diluted dark brown or sepia ink to tie all zones together and fill surface recesses naturally.

6. Bases

  • Drybrush the rocky base with progressively lighter grey tones, finishing with an off-white highlight on the sharpest peaks.
  • Add spot colour with small tufts of dead grass or dark purple moss to contrast the cold grey tones of the figure above.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
