Velyra is a commanding 75mm resin figurine cast in high-detail grey resin, depicting a battle-hardened warrior sister clad in ornate power armour with a hooded veil, spiked halo crown, and flowing ceremonial robes. She stands upon a sculpted oval base, sword lowered at her side and a compact pistol gripped in her opposite hand, radiating the quiet authority of a zealot who has witnessed the worst the galaxy can offer and endured it. Every element of her armour tells a story, from the fleur-de-lis knee plates and skull iconography to the censers and chains hanging at her waist.

This is a physical resin miniature. Supports have already been removed and the piece has been cleaned and prepared. It arrives ready to assemble where applicable and ready to prime and paint. The 75mm scale gives each surface generous detail that rewards careful brushwork, making Velyra an excellent centrepiece for a display cabinet or a commanding focal point in a grimdark sci-fi collection. The single-figure squad configuration makes her ideal as a hero, leader, or standalone collector piece.

Velyra suits hobbyists who enjoy painting elaborate religious or military iconography, layered fabric textures, and complex metallic surfaces. The sculpt rewards intermediate to advanced painters looking for a meaningful weekend project with strong narrative presence.

Painting Guide: Velyra, Figurine 75mm, Sci-Fi Fantasy

The following guide suggests a classic grimdark colour palette to complement the sculpt's dark and devotional aesthetic. Adjust tones to suit your personal vision.

1. Prime

  • Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black spray primer across the entire miniature, ensuring all recesses are covered without filling fine details.
  • Allow to cure fully before proceeding.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the armour panels in a deep ivory or bone white, such as Wraithbone or Zandri Dust, for a worn sacred look.
  • Alternatively, black armour with edge highlights in cold blue-grey suits a more sinister interpretation.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out the spiked halo, pauldron trim, and knee insignia in a tarnished gold such as Retributor Armour, then shade with Agrax Earthshade.
  • Paint skull motifs in off-white with a subtle sepia wash to suggest age and reverence.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat the sword blade in Leadbelcher and highlight up through Stormhost Silver on the sharpest edges to suggest a well-maintained ceremonial weapon.
  • Paint the pistol casing in the same armour colour for unity, with metallic components picked out in steel.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a controlled wash of Nuln Oil into all recesses across the armour and robes to add depth and shadow.
  • Use a fine brush loaded with Rhinox Hide to stipple subtle battle damage and grime along lower armour edges and the hem of the robes.

6. Bases

  • Texture the base with a dark stone effect paint or fine grit paste, dry-brushed in a cold mid-grey, then pick out any rubble or debris in contrasting tones to ground the figure in a ruined environment.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
