The Unholy Coven BFG Squad arrives as a set of highly detailed physical resin miniatures, sculpted in 32mm scale and ready to assemble and paint straight out of the box. Supports have already been removed and parts cleaned, so you can get straight to basing and priming. This squad draws on grimdark sci-fi aesthetics, combining heavy armour plating, horned helms, billowing cloaks, and oversized blastguns to create a striking battlefield presence that fits seamlessly into any dark-future wargaming collection.
From the images, the set appears to include approximately ten to twelve individual warrior figures across two distinct visual variants, alongside a generous spread of weapon options, alternate heads, torso components, and accessory parts. The weapon loadouts feature both ranged blastguns and brutal close-combat mauls, giving you meaningful flexibility when building out each model. Male and female body types are both represented, with dynamic poses that convey aggression and momentum. The modular nature of the components means no two squads need to look identical, which is a real strength for collectors who value variety on the tabletop.
The Unholy Coven BFG Squad is compatible with any 32mm sci-fi wargame and slots naturally into heretic, renegade, or chaos-aligned force compositions. Whether you are reinforcing an existing warband or starting a fresh project, these models deliver strong visual impact at every scale of play. Each piece is cast in high-quality grey resin with fine surface detail retained throughout, from riveted armour panels to individual skull trophies and chain wrappings on the weapon hafts.
Assembly requires plastic-compatible or super glue, and a hobby knife may be useful for any minor cleanup on contact points. Bases are not included and are sold separately. Paint and tools are not included.
Painting Guide: Unholy Coven BFG Squad - by DakkaDakka, Sci-Fi Wargaming Miniatures, 32mm ScaleThe following guide is designed to help you achieve a cohesive grimdark finish on your Unholy Coven BFG Squad, working from a dark undercoat upward through layered highlights and finishing washes.
1. Prime
- Apply a black or dark grey spray primer as a base coat across all components.
- Ensure full coverage in recessed areas such as cloth folds and weapon grooves before proceeding.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat armour panels in a dark iron or gunmetal tone such as Leadbelcher or Scale75 Black Metal.
- Apply a secondary basecoat of deep burgundy or corrupted bronze to any ornate chest and shoulder sections to break up the grey palette.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out horns, trophy skulls, and chain details with a bone or aged ivory colour and shade with a brown wash.
- Use a pale gold or tarnished brass for any raised icons, rivets, and ornamental borders.
4. Weapons
- Paint blastgun barrels and housings in dark steel, then drybrush with a lighter silver for edge wear.
- For maul heads, apply a dark rust wash over the metal base and finish with a spot of bright orange pigment powder at stress points.
5. Weathering
- Apply a heavy oil or enamel wash over all armour surfaces and allow to pool in recesses before wiping the raised areas clean.
- Add chipping and corrosion effects with a small sponge and dark brown paint, focusing on lower leg armour and weapon edges.
6. Bases
- Use a rubble and ash texture paste toned in greys and charcoals to reinforce the grimdark aesthetic.
- Finish base rims in a flat black or very dark grey to frame each model cleanly on the tabletop.
