This Trench Crusade Style squad brings ten resin miniatures to your tabletop, each sculpted by DakkaDakka with the grim, ritual-industrial character that defines the darkest corners of a war-torn future. The Tet'o Kr'lieh Idolators arrive as physical, pre-printed resin models with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for assembly and painting straight out of the box. Each trooper stands approximately 30 to 32 mm from feet to eyes, giving them a strong, imposing presence alongside standard 28 mm scale warbands.
The squad of ten includes eight infantry troopers armed with long-barrelled rifles and various melee tools, one specialist carrying a pistol and hatchet, and one hulking shield-bearer whose massive ceremonial barrier is marked with occult geometric symbols. The distinctive pointed helmets, tentacle-masked respirators and riveted armour plating give the unit a deeply alien, devotional quality, as though these soldiers serve something vast and unknowable beneath the mud and wire. Backpack life-support rigs and trailing tubes reinforce the sense that survival in this hellscape demands a constant pact with strange machinery.
The Trench Crusade Style aesthetic running through this kit rewards painters who enjoy layered grime, corroded metal and cult iconography. Every figure is a unique sculpt with its own pose and load-out, so the squad reads as a living unit rather than a row of identical soldiers. Whether you field them as cultist shock troops, heretical infantry or an elite vanguard for a blasphemous cause, these models carry immediate narrative weight on the table.
Squad size: 10 models. Scale: 30 to 32 mm feet to eyes. Material: resin. Supplied unpainted and unassembled where applicable. Bases included.
Painting Guide: Trench Crusade Style - Tet'o Kr'lieh Idolators SquadThe palette below leans into corroded devotion, blending desaturated armour with sickly organic accents to capture the Trench Crusade Style sense of faith twisted by industry and war.
1. Prime
- Apply a grey or black primer spray for maximum shadow retention across the deep sculpted detail.
- A zenithal white mist over the grey will pre-shade the upper surfaces and save time on layering later.
2. Armour Base
- Base coat all armour panels in a dark slate grey, such as Mechanicus Standard Grey or equivalent.
- Wash the entire model in a dark brown or black shade to fill recesses and define panel edges.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out rivets, tubing joints and symbolic engravings in a dull brass or aged bronze.
- Glaze the tubes and respirator tentacles with a muted sickly green or pallid flesh tone to suggest organic corruption.
4. Weapons
- Paint rifle stocks in a worn dark wood brown, drybrushed lightly with tan for grain effect.
- Metal barrels and action components in dark iron, washed black and then edge highlighted with gunmetal.
5. Weathering
- Stipple chipping across armour edges using a sponge and dark brown followed by a silver highlight.
- Apply a thin rust-coloured wash to lower armour sections and boot areas to represent trench mud and oxidation.
6. Bases
- Texture paste in grey-brown for a blasted earth feel, finished with a dark wash and a few tufts of dead grass or barbed wire fragments.
