This Trench Crusade Style physical resin miniature depicts the Tet'o Herald, a single-model release standing 33mm from feet to eyes and arriving ready to assemble and paint. Sculpted by DakkaDakka, the Herald cuts an imposing silhouette: a hunched, armoured figure draped in heavy chains and a billowing, tattered cape, its conical riveted helm fitted with a respirator mask and circular lenses. One gauntleted hand reaches forward in a commanding gesture while the other grips a tall ceremonial staff topped with a wheel-cross finial.
The detail density on this piece rewards patient painters. Chains drape across the shoulders in deep, cleanly separated links. The cape flows in dramatic, wind-caught folds and is edged with ragged tears that give the model immediate battlefield grit. The back of the helm carries twin cylindrical tanks and exposed bolt fittings, reinforcing the grimdark, industrial-ecclesiastical character that defines the Trench Crusade Style aesthetic. The round slotta base is textured and ready to receive basing materials straight from the box.
Each miniature is cast in high-quality grey resin, supports removed and surfaces cleaned before dispatch. Multi-part assembly may be required. Standard hobby superglue is recommended. The figure ships unpainted unless a painted version is selected at checkout.
Scale reference: 33mm foot to eye. Compatible with standard 32mm round bases.
Painting Guide: Trench Crusade Style - Tet'o HeraldThe painted studio example follows a tarnished brass and oxidised gold scheme with a near-black cape. The steps below replicate that look using widely available hobby paints.
1. Prime
- Apply a zenithal prime: black from below, light grey or white from directly above, to pre-shade the recesses and establish depth before colour is applied.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat all armour plates, chains, and helm with Retributor Armour or equivalent bright gold.
- Apply a generous wash of Agrax Earthshade followed by a focused wash of Nuln Oil into the deepest recesses to build contrast.
3. Trim and Details
- Drybrush raised edges lightly with Liberator Gold or Runefang Steel to restore highlights and pick out rivet heads.
- Paint the respirator mask lenses with Iyanden Yellow base, then a spot of white for a reflection point.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat the staff with Rhinox Hide, then drybrush with Leadbelcher to give it a dark iron appearance.
- Pick out the wheel-cross finial with thinned Retributor Armour to match the armour scheme, then weather with Nihilakh Oxide in the crevices for a verdigris effect.
5. Weathering
- Stipple thinned Rhinox Hide onto armour edges and cape trim to suggest mud and wear consistent with trench warfare environments.
- Draw fine hairline scratches across flat armour panels using a small detail brush loaded with Leadbelcher.
6. Bases
- Apply texture paste or fine sand, prime black, drybrush with Administratum Grey, and finish with a few tufts of dead grass to reinforce the blighted battlefield setting that suits the Trench Crusade Style.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
