Trench Crusade style warfare meets holy dread in this squad of five Pilgrims, physical resin miniatures cast and cleaned ready for the painting table. Each figure wears the iconic tall pointed hood and flowing robes of a fanatical crusading order, layered over chainmail and plate, and armed with a mix of archaic rifles, ornate shotguns, and blessed swords and shields. The sculpts capture the grim, mud-soaked devotion of soldiers who march to war in the name of an unforgiving faith.
This set contains five individual models, each supplied on a 25mm base. The squad includes three gunners carrying long-barrelled rifles and automatic weapons, one heavily armed trooper with a compact shotgun and blade, and one champion figure bearing a crusader shield and sword. Every pose conveys forward momentum and religious resolve, with cloaks whipping behind them and crosses worked into armour panels and weapon mounts.
These miniatures arrive as pre-printed physical resin pieces with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned. They are ready to assemble where applicable and to move straight into priming and painting. Scale is 25mm base size, fitting comfortably alongside standard infantry ranges. The level of surface detail is high, with crisp folds in cloth, clear rivets across plate, and fine scrollwork on shields and gun furniture.
Whether you are building a dedicated warband or expanding an existing force, this Trench Crusade style unit brings character and visual weight to any collection. Five models per set, supplied unpainted.
Painting Guide: Trench Crusade style - PilgrimsThese robed zealots reward a muted, gritty palette broken up by spot colours on holy symbols and weapon metals. Work from dark to light across the cloth layers and push contrast between the pale robes and the grimy armour beneath.
1. Prime
- Apply a grey or off-white zenithal prime to pre-shade the robes and establish light direction from above
- Follow with a light dusting of bone white from directly overhead to lift the highest points
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat exposed plate with a dark iron grey such as Dark Reaper or similar deep steel tone
- Block in chainmail areas with a mid-toned silver and leave recesses shaded with the prime colour showing through
3. Trim and Details
- Paint robes with a thin coat of pale bone or aged linen, keeping the pre-shade visible in deep folds
- Pick out crosses and holy symbols in a worn gold or brass tone for contrast against the cloth
4. Weapons
- Apply a dark gunmetal to rifle barrels and action parts, followed by a targeted highlight of bright silver on edges and wear points
- Paint wooden stocks with a warm brown base, shaded with a dark brown wash and edge-highlighted in ochre
5. Weathering
- Apply a thin brown wash across robes, concentrated in the lower hems, to simulate mud and campaign wear
- Stipple diluted rust tones onto armour plates and add light scratches with a fine brush or sponge technique
6. Bases
- Texture with a mix of fine sand and dark earth paste, paint in a muted grey-brown, and add tufts of dead grass or barbed wire offcuts for a no-man's-land feel
