This Trench Crusade style Flagellant is a physical resin miniature, supplied with supports already removed and cleaned, ready to assemble and paint. Sculpted by Crab Miniatures, this single figure captures the grim devotion of a fanatical penitent warrior clad in heavy plate armour, a tall pointed hood masking its face, and a flowing tattered robe scorched at the hem. The figure wields a spiked flail chain adorned with a cross, and carries a battered shield etched with holy symbols, embodying the suffering and zeal of a soldier marching through cursed trenches in service of an unforgiving faith.

The miniature is supplied on a 32mm base and stands as a striking single-model piece. Fine sculptural details include riveted armour panels, layered chainmail beneath the robe, deeply carved cross motifs on the shield and breastplate, and dynamic robes that suggest movement and grim purpose. Every surface rewards careful painting, from the pitted metal of the armour to the frayed edges of the cloth. This is a high-quality physical resin cast that arrives ready for the hobbyist's brush.

Ideal for skirmish wargames, display collections, or narrative campaigns set in grimdark worlds of holy war and industrial horror. The Trench Crusade style aesthetic blends medieval religious iconography with brutal battlefield wear, making this Flagellant a compelling centrepiece or rank-and-file devotee in any warband. Scale is 32mm base size, compatible with most popular skirmish systems.

Whether you are building a themed force of penitent warriors or simply want a striking single model for your display shelf, this figure delivers the atmosphere and detail serious hobbyists demand. Supports have been removed and the piece has been sanded and cleaned where needed, so you can move straight to assembly and painting without extra preparation work.

Painting Guide: Trench Crusade style - Flagellant

The following guide is designed to help you achieve a battle-worn, religiously austere finish that suits the Trench Crusade style tone of this miniature. Thin your paints, work in layers, and take your time with the fine details.

1. Prime

  • Apply a grey or white spray primer evenly across the whole model to preserve fine detail and provide a neutral base for all subsequent colours.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat all armour plates with a cold mid-grey such as Mechanicus Standard Grey or equivalent.
  • Apply a thin coat of Nuln Oil or similar dark wash into all recesses to define the plate edges and rivets.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out the cross motifs and armour trim with a muted bone or aged gold tone to suggest worn holy ornamentation.
  • Drybrush lightly with a pale grey or silver over raised armour edges to simulate field wear.

4. Weapons

  • Paint the chain and flail head with a dark iron basecoat such as Leadbelcher, then wash with Agrax Earthshade for a rusted, grimy finish.
  • Highlight the highest points of the chain links with a brighter silver to suggest worn metal catching dim light.

5. Weathering

  • Stipple diluted brown and orange at joints and lower armour edges to represent rust and mud accumulation from trench warfare.
  • Use a sponge or torn blister foam with dark grey to add chipped paint and battle damage across armour surfaces.

6. Bases

  • Texture the 32mm base with a mix of sand, fine grit, and PVA, then paint in dark earth tones with patches of dried mud. Add a few tufts or dead grass for a desolate battlefield feel.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
