The Thunderfury Gunship arrives as a highly detailed physical resin miniature, ready to assemble and paint straight out of the box. Bristling with multi-barrel rotary cannons, oversized engine pods, and layered armour plating, this imposing craft dominates the battlefield with a silhouette that speaks of overwhelming firepower and brutal forward momentum. Every panel line, rivet cluster, and exhaust vent has been sculpted with exceptional precision, giving hobbyists a rewarding surface to work with across all stages of painting and weathering.
The model measures approximately 80mm from nose to tail and spans roughly 90mm across the wing nacelles, making it a commanding centrepiece for any sci-fi wargaming force. The Thunderfury Gunship features twin dorsal stabiliser fins, multiple forward-facing gun barrels on each wing pod, and a deeply detailed underbelly with additional weapon hardpoints. The kit ships with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, so you can move straight into assembly and priming without any additional preparation work.
Cast in high-quality grey resin, this miniature captures the grimdark aesthetic of a galaxy in perpetual conflict. Faction-neutral in design, the Thunderfury Gunship integrates naturally into a wide range of sci-fi wargaming collections, from mechanised assault forces to independent mercenary fleets. Whether displayed on a scenic flight stand or fielded competitively on the tabletop, it makes an immediate visual statement.
The model comes supplied with a flight stand base, as shown in the product images. All parts are cast in durable resin and arrive ready for glue, primer, and paint. This is a collector-grade physical miniature produced by Atlan Forge.
Painting Guide: Thunderfury Gunship - Sci-Fi Wargaming MiniatureThe following guide covers a recommended approach for achieving a battle-worn military finish on your new gunship. Adjust colours to suit your chosen faction palette.
1. Prime
- Apply a light grey or black aerosol primer in thin, even coats
- Allow full curing time before proceeding to basecoats
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat all hull panels with a mid-grey such as Mechanicus Standard Grey or equivalent
- Apply a second coat to raised armour sections for smooth, even coverage
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out panel borders and vents in a darker grey or gunmetal tone
- Use a fine brush to apply contrast between recessed lines and raised surfaces
4. Weapons
- Paint all gun barrels and cannon housings with a dark steel or iron metallic
- Highlight tips with a bright silver to suggest worn, active use
5. Weathering
- Apply a brown or black wash across all recesses and panel lines
- Drybrush raised edges with a pale grey or off-white to simulate battle damage and grime
- Add targeted chipping effects using a sponge and a dark brown paint
6. Bases
- If using the included flight stand, paint the stem in a neutral black or dark grey to keep focus on the gunship itself
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
