The Thunderblaze Gunship is a hulking, multi-role combat vessel that dominates the grimdark battlefield with raw firepower and brutal armoured presence. Supplied as a physical resin miniature with supports already removed, this model arrives ready to assemble and paint. Packed with detail across every surface, from its twin forward thruster housings and raised dorsal antenna array to its rotating turret cupola and layered hull plating, this piece rewards patient hobbyists who want a true centrepiece for their collection.
Standing at approximately 120mm in length and 90mm in width, the Thunderblaze Gunship is a substantial model that commands attention on any gaming table. The silhouette combines the aggressive bulk of a ground assault vehicle with vectored thrust engines and swept lateral weapon pods, suggesting a machine capable of both atmospheric strafing runs and heavy fire support. The level of surface detail is exceptional, with panel lines, rivet clusters, venting ports, and mounted missile racks all cleanly rendered in high-quality grey resin.
This model is suited to a wide range of grimdark sci-fi wargaming systems and makes an ideal centrepiece, objective marker, or elite heavy unit depending on your preferred rules set. The Thunderblaze Gunship ships as a multi-part resin kit and may require light assembly using superglue. A small amount of gap filling may also be needed at joins, as is standard with resin miniatures of this complexity.
Whether you are building a forces of order warband, an imperial strike column, or a renegade armoured company, this gunship will add visual weight and thematic power to your army. Wash, drybrush, and weather to taste for maximum battlefield impact.
Painting Guide: Thunderblaze Gunship - Sci-Fi Wargaming MiniatureThe following guide walks you through a practical, high-impact paint scheme designed to bring your Thunderblaze Gunship to life on the tabletop. All paints referenced use generic colour descriptions so you can match them to your preferred brand.
1. Prime
- Apply a grey spray primer evenly across all surfaces from approximately 30cm distance.
- Allow to cure fully before proceeding, ideally overnight in a dry environment.
2. Armour Base
- Apply a flat dark iron or charcoal grey as your primary armour colour across all hull panels.
- Add a lighter mid-grey highlight by drybrushing raised edges and panel corners.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out mechanical trim, vents, and piping in a deep bronze or aged brass tone.
- Use a fine brush to apply a desaturated bone or ivory colour to any insignia plates or sensor arrays.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat all gun barrels and weapon pods in dark steel using a small flat brush.
- Drybrush with bright silver to bring out muzzle wear and barrel edges.
5. Weathering
- Apply a dark brown or black oil wash over the entire model and allow to settle into recesses before wiping back highlights with a damp cloth.
- Add chipping effects to armour panels using a torn blister foam sponge loaded with dark metal paint.
6. Bases
- Mount on a 120mm oval or custom base using superglue, then texture with fine sand or basing paste and drybrush to match your army theme.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
