This is a hardened frontline squad built for the most punishing theatres of war, veterans who have survived enough campaigns to carry the scars and the scavenged gear to prove it. Each trooper wears layered flak jackets, heavy-buckled webbing, and a mix of respirator masks, goggles, and worn field caps that speak to years of active service. The squad radiates the grim, battered competence of soldiers who have long stopped expecting relief and simply get the job done.

The build kit includes 32 parts across 5 body types, 5 head types, 5 backpack types, a deployable beacon, and 16 arms and weapons. The weapon options cover rifles with scopes and under-barrel launchers, grenade-bearing loadouts, a melta-style sidearm, and binocular-carrying command poses. Painting Guide: The Doomsday Veterans Brigade (Build Kit)

The Doomsday Veterans reward a restrained, field-worn palette. The guide below takes each model from bare resin to a finished, battle-ready look.

1. Prime

• Apply a light grey or neutral bone spray primer for an even base across all surfaces and recesses.

2. Armour Base

• Base coat the flak jackets and jackets in a deep military olive green such as Castellan Green or Caliban Green.
• Paint the trousers and gaiters in a cold slate grey to create tonal contrast with the upper body.

3. Trim and Details

• Pick out straps, buckles, and webbing in a warm tan or leather brown, then shade the whole model with Agrax Earthshade to unify the tones.
• Highlight raised edges on jackets with a lighter olive mix and use a pale grey on trouser folds for subtle definition.

4. Weapons

• Base the weapon bodies in dark iron or gunmetal, then apply a pin wash of Nuln Oil into all recesses and mechanical details.
• Drybrush lightly with a bright silver on barrel ends and worn contact points to suggest heavy field use.

5. Weathering

• Stipple chipping across the flak armour using a sponge and a dark brown-black mix, concentrating on shoulder edges and lower legs.
• Add streaking grime effects to the torso and webbing using a thinned brown wash drawn downward with a fine brush.

6. Bases

• Texture the base with a dark muddy paste or fine sand, paint in a deep grey-brown, drybrush with pale bone, and finish with a few tufts of dead grass for a desolate battlefield feel.
