“They dig faster than the ash can fill the hole, most days. The masks are not for the air; they stopped counting the buried faces years ago.”
The Doomsday Corps of Engineers (Build Kit)

The Doomsday Corps of Engineers arrives as a build kit to create a set of ten physical resin miniatures, each standing 29mm from feet to eyes, cast in clean grey resin with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready to assemble and paint straight from the box. This is a full combat-engineering squad built for the grimmest theatres of war, dressed in long greatcoats, layered flak armour, and respirator masks that leave no face unguarded. Sculpted by DakkaDakka, every figure carries the weight of a regiment that has seen too many sieges and survived them all.

The build kit format gives you genuine creative control over the final squad. Included are 51 parts across 5 unique bodies, 5 helmet and head options, 16 arms and weapon combinations, 3 distinct backpacks, and a small armed rover that can accompany the unit on the tabletop. Weapon options span bolt pistols, multi-barrelled revolvers, combat knives, entrenching tools, swords, and a flamer arm, giving you the flexibility to configure specialists, veterans, and a squad leader to suit your force. The commander figure stands over a defeated alien skull, greatcoat pressed straight, sash across the chest, and a revolver pistol raised with quiet authority.

The Doomsday Corps reads on the table as a cohesive unit with real visual variety. Goggled scouts crouch forward. Gas-masked troopers advance with heavy weapons levelled. A flamer operator brings fire to the breach. Each body pose and equipment combination tells a slightly different story within the same squad identity, and the modular system means no two builds need to look alike.

This kit is compatible with standard 32mm round bases and fits alongside other infantry squads at the same scale. All resin parts arrive clean and support-free, requiring only light assembly and gluing before painting.

Painting Guide: The Doomsday Corps of Engineers (Build Kit)

The painted studio models use a muted military palette of olive greens, dark grey greatcoats, and worn brown leather, kept deliberately desaturated to suit a grimdark battlefield. The guide below matches that approach.

1. Prime

  • Spray with a dark grey or black primer for a deep shadow base that suits the greatcoat and armour panels.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat armour plates and helmets with a mid olive green, applied over the dark prime to preserve shadows in recesses.
  • Paint greatcoats and trouser legs with a dark cool grey, leaving the deepest folds unpainted for contrast.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out straps, harnesses, and belt pouches in a warm mid brown, then wash with a dark sepia or agrax equivalent.
  • Paint respirator lenses and goggles in a deep red, with a small bright orange or white highlight dot to suggest reflection.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat all metal weapons and barrels with a dark gunmetal, then drybrush lightly with a brighter silver on raised edges.
  • Paint wooden handles and grip wraps in a mid brown, washed darker to bring out grain and texture.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a thinned dark brown wash across the lower greatcoats and boots to suggest mud and campaign wear.
  • Stipple or edge-chip the armour plates with a dark grey brown to break up flat surfaces and add battlefield history.

6. Bases

  • Texture paste in dark grey or brown, drybrushed with a pale stone colour, suits an urban rubble or trench warfare theme and keeps the focus on the figures above.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
