The Doomsday Assault Riders arrive as a set of five physical resin miniatures, each standing 29mm from feet to eyes, cast in clean grey resin with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready to assemble and paint straight from the box. Supplied unpainted.
This is a hard-charging frontline cavalry unit built for the most gruelling offensives in any grimdark warzone. Each rider is dressed in a layered greatcoat and worn flak gear, goggled helmet pulled low and a respirator sealed tight against the dust and ruin of the battlefield. They carry improvised close-assault weapons, long tube-launchers braced across handlebars, blades held high mid-charge, giving the squad a sense of kinetic violence captured at the exact moment of impact. One rider bears a skull-and-crossbones pennant bolted to his frame. Another leans forward over the bars, weapon raised overhead. The bikes themselves are heavy, ribbed-tread machines, all exposed pipework and battered fairings, built to carry soldiers through rubble and ruin at speed.
Sculpted by DakkaDakka, this squad brings the same grim attention to detail as the rest of the Doomsday range: weathered, layered, and built to anchor a collection or lead a charge on the tabletop.
Also included are 10 interchangeable weapons in grey resin, giving you options to vary each rider's loadout and create a squad that feels like a real unit rather than a repeated pose. Oval bases are supplied for all five models.
Painting Guide: The Doomsday Assault Riders (x5)These riders reward a weathered, campaign-worn approach. The palette leans on muted military greens, worn leather, and chipped bare metal, with rust and grime applied throughout to sell the sense of a unit that has been riding hard through hostile territory.
1. Prime
- Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black primer across all five models and bases before any paint is applied.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the greatcoats and padded armour panels in a deep olive drab such as Castellan Green or Russian Uniform.
- Shade the recesses with a dark brown wash like Agrax Earthshade to separate the layers and add depth.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out the goggle lenses in a bright blue or pale yellow to add a point of contrast against the dull uniform tones.
- Paint leather straps, holsters, and boot shafts in a warm mid-brown, shaded darker at the buckles and folds.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat the tube-launchers and blades in Leadbelcher or a similar dark metallic grey.
- Wash with Nuln Oil and drybrush lightly with Stormhost Silver to bring out the surface detail and create the impression of scored, used metal.
5. Weathering
- Apply thin streaks of a dark brown or orange-brown oil paint from bolts and joints downward to suggest rust and fuel staining.
- Use a sponge or torn blister foam to stipple chipping along armour edges and the bike fairings in a dark brown, followed by a lighter silver highlight on the uppermost chips.
6. Bases
- Texture the oval bases with a coarse paste in a grey-brown tone, pick out rubble and debris in stone colours, and finish with a light drybrush of pale bone or off-white to tie the squad together on the tabletop.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
