Templar Heavy Aegis - 32mm Resin Miniatures

The Templar Heavy Aegis is a squad of three heavily armoured crusader warriors, each one a walking fortress of sacred plate and overwhelming firepower. Sculpted by Atlan Forge, these figures carry the weight of holy war in every rivet and chain-draped pauldron, combining ornate devotional iconography with brutal, oversized weapons that leave no doubt about their purpose on the battlefield. Supplied as physical resin miniatures with supports already removed, they arrive ready to assemble and paint.

Each warrior in the squad wears layered power armour covered in devotional crosses, skulls, and coiling cable bundles that wrap across chest plates and shoulder guards. The surface detail is dense and deliberate: every panel is textured with engraved markings, battle honours, and sacred emblems that reward careful brushwork and make each figure a centrepiece in its own right. Two of the three carry heavy rifles with underslung secondary barrels, while the central figure bears an even larger weapon draped with a belt of oversized rounds looped across the torso.

Posed with authority and mass, these miniatures read as a cohesive unit at a glance while offering enough individual character to stand alone on a display shelf. The squad scale suits 32mm collections and sits naturally alongside other heavy infantry and elite crusader forces.

Each miniature is cast in grey resin at 32mm scale. The set contains three figures on round bases, supplied unpainted. Some minor assembly may be required.

The Templar Heavy Aegis rewards a layered painting approach. The armour panels are wide enough for smooth blending, while the cables, devotional markings, and ammunition details give you plenty of focal points to push contrast and colour variety.

1. Prime

• Clean each figure with warm soapy water and allow to dry fully before priming.
• Apply a grey or black spray primer in thin, even coats to capture the fine surface detail without filling recesses.

2. Armour Base

• For a classic crusader look, base coat the armour panels in a dark steel grey or deep navy blue, applied with a flat brush or airbrush for even coverage.
• For a worn bone white scheme, build up from an off-white base over a dark primer, leaving recesses naturally shadowed.

3. Trim and Details

• Pick out the crosses, skull motifs, and devotional engravings in gold or tarnished brass using a fine detail brush.
• Apply a brown or sepia wash over all metallic trim to push depth into the engraved lines and give a worn, battle-worn appearance.

4. Weapons

• Base coat the weapon bodies in dark iron or gunmetal, then drybrush a lighter silver across raised edges and barrel ends.
• Paint the ammunition belt rounds in a warm brass and wash with a dark brown to tie them visually to the armour trim.

5. Weathering

• Use a small sponge or stippling brush to dab chipped paint effects across armour edges in a dark brown, followed by a silver highlight directly above each chip mark.
• Apply a thin oil wash or contrast medium into the deep cable recesses and around the boots and greaves to suggest grime and heavy use.

6. Bases

• Finish the round bases with textured paste, small stone fragments, or cork rubble to complement the ancient gothic architecture visible in the scenic renders. A dark flagstone or worn marble finish suits the crusader aesthetic well.
