The Templar Aegis Captain stands as a towering symbol of unyielding martial authority, sculpted in extraordinary detail for collectors and wargamers who demand the finest resin miniatures on the tabletop. This imposing figure cuts an unmistakable silhouette, clad in ornate power armour layered with chainmail texturing, mechanical gauntlets, and a sweeping ceremonial cape embossed on the reverse with a winged aquila crest and elaborate scrollwork. A spiked halo-like reliquary crown rises behind the helmeted head, curling horns framing a visor-masked face that radiates cold, unflinching command. The figure stands approximately 35-40mm to the top of the armour crown, making it suitable as a hero or commander piece within standard 28-32mm scale wargaming systems.

Every surface of the Templar Aegis Captain rewards close inspection. The chest plate bears a Maltese-style crusader cross medallion, while skull-adorned chain weapons hang at the waist. Massive pauldrons are decorated with feathered and segmented detailing, and the power fist on the right arm adds further menace to the already formidable posture. This physical resin miniature arrives with supports already removed, cleaned, and ready for assembly and painting. It is supplied in an unpainted grey resin state, giving hobbyists full creative freedom over their colour scheme.

Whether you field this model as a crusading champion, an iron-willed order commander, or a grimdark warrior-saint of a dying age, the Templar Aegis Captain brings genuine presence and narrative weight to any collection or gaming table. The sculpt is produced by Atlan Forge, a studio known for its richly detailed sci-fi and fantasy miniatures designed for discerning adult hobbyists.

This miniature is sold as a single character model. Please note that the product is supplied unpainted and may require minor cleanup before painting. Superglue is recommended for any multi-part assembly. The cape and halo crown may be separate components depending on the version received.

Painting Guide: Templar Aegis Captain - Sci-Fi Wargaming Miniatures

Bring the Templar Aegis Captain to life with a painting approach that emphasises aged, battle-worn armour and the ornate ceremonial details that define this commanding figure. The guide below walks through each stage from prime to finished base.

1. Prime

  • Apply a grey or black spray primer in thin, even coats to preserve fine surface detail on the chainmail and cape embossing.
  • Allow full drying time of at least one hour before applying any base colours.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat armour plates in a dark slate grey or deep midnight blue using a flat brush, working carefully around raised edging.
  • Apply a second thinner coat to smooth coverage over the large pauldrons and chest plate.

3. Trim and Details

  • Paint all trim, the crusader medallion, and the halo crown in a rich gold or aged brass tone, using a fine detail brush.
  • Pick out the chain texturing across the torso in a darker metallic iron shade to contrast against the gold.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat the power fist and chain weapon components in dark steel, then drybrush with a bright silver to catch raised mechanical edges.
  • Shade the skull details with a brown or sepia wash to add depth and age to the bone surfaces.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a dark brown or black wash across all armour panel recesses to define depth and shadow.
  • Use a sponge or stipple brush to dab on chipped paint effects in a lighter grey over armour edges for a battle-worn appearance.

6. Bases

  • Texture the base with fine sand or pumice paste, paint in a volcanic rock scheme of charcoal and ash grey to complement the fiery battlefield aesthetic of the model artwork.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
