The Space Dwarf Heavy Thunder Support squad arrives ready to bring overwhelming firepower to your sci-fi wargaming table. These stocky, heavily built warriors carry oversized rotary cannons, missile launchers, and bulky energy weapons that dwarf their already formidable frames. Each miniature captures the grim determination of a veteran heavy weapons crew, clad in thick void-rated suits, reinforced armour plating, and breath-mask helmets suited to the harshest battlefield environments.
This squad contains five physically printed resin miniatures, each supplied with a pre-formed oval base. Supports have already been removed and the models have been cleaned and sanded where needed, so they arrive ready to assemble and paint straight from the box. Scale is 32mm, and the second image shows a size comparison alongside a standard space marine miniature, confirming the compact but imposing stature of the Space Dwarf Heavy Thunder Support unit on the table.
Each figure in the squad has a distinct weapon loadout and pose, giving your force genuine visual variety. Whether you are running them as a dedicated heavy support detachment or integrating them into a broader combined-arms roster, these models fit naturally into any grimdark sci-fi setting. The sculpts reward careful painting and will stand out in any collection.
Miniatures are cast in grey resin and require assembly of any separate weapon arms before painting. Plastic cement or super glue is recommended. Paints and bases are not included.
Painting Guide: Space Dwarf Heavy Thunder Support - Sci-Fi Wargaming Miniatures, 32mmThis guide will help you bring your Space Dwarf Heavy Thunder Support squad to life with a battle-worn industrial colour scheme suited to grimdark sci-fi wargaming.
1. Prime
- Apply a grey or black zenithal prime using spray or airbrush to establish shadow and highlight contrast before basecoating.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the suits with a dark olive drab or gunmetal grey for a utilitarian void-crew look.
- Apply a second, lighter tone from above to add depth to the bulky armour panels.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out rivets, hoses, and suit seams with a brass or aged bronze tone to suggest industrial manufacture.
- Use a dark brown wash over all armour to settle into recesses and create natural shadow.
4. Weapons
- Paint rotary barrels and cannon housings with dark steel, then drybrush a brighter silver over edges to show wear.
- Add a spot colour such as hazard yellow or deep red to power cells and targeting lenses for visual interest.
5. Weathering
- Apply chipping effects using a sponge with dark brown and silver to battle-worn armour edges and weapon casings.
- Use a streaking grime product or thinned brown oil paint to add fuel and grime streaks down armour plates.
6. Bases
- Texture the oval bases with a mix of sand, small gravel, and a dark brown wash, then drybrush with pale stone to suggest rubble or rockcrete terrain.
