Skornfang is a towering chimeric predator rendered as a premium 32mm scale physical resin miniature, standing ready to dominate your tabletop as a centrepiece monster. This single-model release depicts a hulking beast with the maned, snarling head of a great cat set atop a massively muscled humanoid torso. Overlapping scales armour its lower body and coil around a thick, serpentine tail that sweeps across the rocky base. Its arms end in elongated, hooked talons capable of shredding steel, and every surface is packed with dynamic anatomical detail that rewards careful painting.

The miniature ships as a physical resin cast, supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, arriving ready to assemble and prime. The sculpt is presented in two views: a front-facing heroic pose that emphasises the broad chest and ferocious expression, and a rear view that reveals the full scale coverage and curling tail. At roughly 32mm scale the figure stands noticeably taller than a standard infantry model, making it ideal as a boss encounter or elite creature on the battlefield.

Sculpted by Haito, this release suits collectors seeking a fearsome apex predator and game masters who need a memorable antagonist. The combination of leonine features, reptilian scales and primal musculature gives Skornfang a presence that suits wilderness, dungeon or post-apocalyptic ruin settings equally well. No STL file or printing is required on your part. What arrives in the post is the finished physical piece, fully cast and ready for your hobby desk.

Pair this miniature with similarly scaled beasts or elite warriors to build a warband centred around raw predatory power. The rocky terrain base integrates naturally with cracked earth or highland basing schemes.

Painting Guide: Skornfang - Monster

Follow this step-by-step guide to bring the beast to life on your painting table, pushing the sculpt's deep muscle striations and layered scales to their full potential.

1. Prime

  • Apply a zenithal prime using a black base coat followed by a light grey or off-white mist from above to pre-shade the deep recesses.
  • For a warmer skin tone, substitute the top coat with a pale bone spray to give a natural undercoat for the leonine fur and chest.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the overlapping scales on the legs, back and tail with a mid-tone earthy brown such as Rhinox Hide or Gorthor Brown.
  • Apply a diluted dark wash into all the scale gaps to define each plate sharply before building up highlights.

3. Trim and Details

  • Layer the raised scale edges with a progressively lighter sandy tone, finishing with a near-white edge highlight on the most prominent plates.
  • Pick out the mane with thin glazes of tawny orange and deep brown, building texture with fine stippling strokes to suggest individual hairs.

4. Weapons

  • Paint the elongated talons starting with a dark brown base, layering up through bone to a sharp off-white tip to suggest keratin density.
  • Add subtle pink-grey tones at the base of each claw where they meet the skin to imply living tissue beneath.

5. Weathering

  • Stipple dried blood or rust-brown streaks along the talon edges and lower arms using a torn blister foam for a battle-worn predator effect.
  • Drybrush the tail scales lightly with a pale grey to suggest dust and dried mud accumulated from a wilderness environment.

6. Bases

  • Drybrush the cracked rock base through a progression of dark grey, mid grey and pale bone to tie it to highland or ruin settings.
  • Add tufts of dead grass or scorched lichen around the rocky outcroppings to reinforce a desolate wilderness feel.
