Sci-fi warfare comes to life with this set of ten highly detailed physical resin miniatures, the MSC Operations Team 2nd Division, sculpted by DakkaDakka and delivered ready to assemble and paint. Each figure arrives with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, so you can move straight into building your force without any preparation headaches. These soldiers carry a strong grimdark military aesthetic, blending tactical armour plating, helmeted visors, and a varied arsenal of ranged and melee weapons across the squad.
The set includes ten unique poses across three distinct troop tiers. The lighter infantry wear flak-style armour with capes and carry long-barrelled rifles in dynamic aiming stances. The mid-tier operatives sport heavier chest plates and mix firearms with bladed weapons, giving the squad visual variety and tactical depth on the tabletop. The heavy troopers are bulkier, clad in reinforced power armour with prominent shoulder mounts, and carry oversized weapons suited to a front-line assault role. This range of silhouettes makes the squad immediately readable during gameplay and visually striking on a display shelf.
Each miniature is scaled at 28mm from feet to eyes, making them compatible with the majority of popular grimdark sci-fi wargame systems. The level of sculpted detail is exceptional for the scale, with visible pouches, panel lines, knee pads, backpack equipment, and weapon accessories clearly defined across every figure. Whether you are building a veteran kill team, a specialist operations squad, or a display piece collection, this set delivers outstanding value and variety.
Supplied as physical resin castings. Assembly may be required on some pieces. Painting and basing materials are not included. Bases are included as shown.
Painting Guide: Sci-Fi Fire Squad Miniatures - MSC Operations Team 2nd Division x 10This guide will help you bring your sci-fi operatives to life with a coherent, battle-worn colour scheme that suits the grimdark tone of the sculpts.
1. Prime
- Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black primer to all ten models, ensuring full coverage in recessed areas such as under armour plates and around weapon grips.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the armour panels in a neutral military tone such as dark grey, olive drab, or deep navy using a flat brush or airbrush.
- Apply a second, lighter tone to raised armour surfaces to begin establishing contrast before shading.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out belt buckles, visor frames, and chest insignia in a warm metallic such as gunmetal or bronze to add visual interest against the armour tone.
- Paint cloth elements such as capes and fatigues in a contrasting muted tone, earthy tan or faded khaki work well for a field-worn look.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat rifle bodies in dark grey or black, then drybrush lightly with silver to suggest worn metal and heavy use.
- Add a spot colour to energy weapon components or optic lenses, a cold blue or amber glow effect works well at this scale.
5. Weathering
- Apply a dark brown or black wash across all armour panels and recesses to deepen shadows and bring out the sculpted detail.
- Use a small sponge or stippling brush to add chipped paint effects along armour edges using a lighter base colour mixed with off-white.
6. Bases
- Texture the bases with a mix of fine sand, small grit, and modelling paste, then paint in ashen grey or cracked earth tones to match a desolate battlefield setting. Finish with a light drybrush of pale grey or bone across the surface texture.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
