Sci-fi warfare comes to life with the MSC Assault Team Squad Build Kit, a set of physical resin miniatures cast in fine detail and ready for assembly and painting straight out of the box. Each figure stands 28mm from feet to eyes, making them perfectly scaled for skirmish wargames and tabletop campaigns alike. Supports have already been removed and the parts cleaned, so you can move straight to building your squad without any prep headaches.

This kit contains 65 parts in total, with 42 unique components giving you genuine flexibility when posing your warriors. The squad builds into three heavily armoured assault troopers, each wearing segmented power armour with distinctive twin-antenna helmets and layered pauldrons. The 19 hands and weapons options include bulky automatic rifles, compact carbines, bladed sidearms, and combination arm-weapon assemblies. Whether you want aggressive forward poses or steady-aimed stances, the components support a wide range of dynamic configurations. The grimdark aesthetic suits any futuristic military force, and the crisp resin casting captures every panel line, rivet, and mechanical joint with impressive clarity. Three sculpted oval bases are included to finish off each trooper.

The MSC Assault Team is an ideal squad for collectors building a sci-fi infantry force with a coherent visual identity. The modular nature of the build kit means no two squads need look identical, giving veteran hobbyists room to convert and personalise. Sculpted by DakkaDakka, these troopers carry that signature heavy-armour silhouette that sits comfortably alongside a wide range of compatible ranges.

Painting Guide: Sci-Fi Fire Squad Miniatures-MSC Assault Team Squad Build Kit

The step-by-step guide below is designed to help you get these sci-fi soldiers table-ready with a grim, battle-worn finish that suits their aggressive aesthetic.

1. Prime

  • Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black spray primer across all assembled parts.
  • Allow to cure fully before moving on, ideally leaving overnight in a warm, dry space.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the armour plates in a deep urban grey, a steel blue, or a dark olive depending on your faction colour scheme.
  • Apply in thin, controlled layers to preserve the crisp panel detail beneath.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out the helmet antennas, shoulder trim, and knee guards in a contrasting metallic or accent colour such as brass, copper, or bright red.
  • Use a fine brush to dot lenses and sensors with a bright off-white or hazard yellow.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat rifles and carbines in a dark gunmetal, then drybrush lightly with bright silver to bring out raised edges and barrel detail.
  • Paint grip sections and stocks in a matte black or dark brown to differentiate them from the metal components.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a dark brown or black wash across the entire model, allowing it to settle into recesses and panel lines for depth.
  • Once dry, use a sponge or a stippling brush to add chipping effects on armour edges using a mid-tone grey over the base colour.

6. Bases

  • Texture the oval bases with fine sand or a commercial basing paste, then paint in earthy tones or urban concrete shades to ground the models on the tabletop.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
