Sci-fi darkness takes physical form with this sinister Idolators Soloist miniature, a single resin model depicting a commanding cult figure seated within an ornate mechanical throne bristling with speaker arrays, gothic iconography, and writhing cable bundles at the rear. Standing 32mm from feet to eyes and 60mm in full height, this piece carries serious presence on any tabletop. The miniature arrives as a physical resin cast, supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, comprising 8 separate parts ready to assemble and paint.

The sculpt rewards close attention. The front face of the throne presents circular speaker dishes, a skull-crowned finial, and a bold central sigil, while the rear reveals densely packed conduit bundles and riveted armour plates that speak of forbidden technology fused with dark ritual purpose. The figure herself is posed mid-command, one arm raised and mouth open, conveying authority and menace in equal measure. She sits atop a 32mm round base, which is included.

This model fits naturally into grimdark sci-fi cult warbands and makes a compelling leader or psyker stand-in. Whether used in skirmish games or displayed as a centrepiece, the level of detail across both figure and throne structure gives painters a rich canvas to work with.

Assembly requires hobby glue suitable for resin. Light sanding of contact points is recommended before bonding. Wash all parts in warm soapy water before priming to ensure paint adhesion across every sci-fi surface panel and cable run.

Painting Guide: Sci-Fi Chaos Cult Female Miniature – Idolators Soloist (28mm Resin)

This guide will help you bring out the full character of this detailed sci-fi miniature from primer through to finished basing.

1. Prime

  • Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black spray primer to all parts before assembly if preferred for hard-to-reach areas such as the cable bundles on the rear of the throne.
  • Allow to cure fully in a dry environment before proceeding.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the armour panels of the figure in a deep purple or midnight blue for a sinister cult aesthetic.
  • Apply a flat black to the throne body and wing panels as a strong foundation for later shading.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out the circular speaker dishes in a dark bronze or aged brass to contrast the darker bodywork.
  • Use a cold silver for rivets, bolts, and the central sigil to draw the eye across the sculpt.

4. Weapons and Icons

  • Paint the skull finial at the crown of the throne in bone white, then shade with a brown wash for depth.
  • Highlight the raised sigil with a faint glow effect using yellow-green to suggest dark energy.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a dark brown or black oil wash across all recesses, especially the cable clusters at the rear, to enhance shadow and depth.
  • Dry-brush light silver over armour edges to simulate wear on the throne panels.

6. Bases

  • Texture the 32mm base with fine sand or a pre-made texture paste in a blasted wasteland scheme to suit a grimdark setting.
  • Add a spot colour such as a toxic green puddle or ember-orange debris to complement the cold armour tones of the miniature.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
