Sci-fi collectors and wargaming enthusiasts will find Khadessa Varn to be a striking addition to any grimdark collection. This physical resin miniature arrives pre-printed, with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for assembly and painting straight out of the box. Standing 32mm from feet to eyes, she cuts an imposing figure with her winged helm, sweeping cloak, and oversized blade planted firmly before her.

Khadessa Varn is sculpted in two parts, with the head and body separating cleanly for easier painting access to the neck and collar details. The sculpt features strong arcane cult aesthetics, with circular shoulder ornaments, layered robes over armoured legs, and a large two-handed sword adorned with a central gem setting. The cloak billows dramatically to one side, giving her a commanding, otherworldly presence on the tabletop.

This miniature fits naturally into forces inspired by forbidden sects, heretical warbands, and shadowed orders operating beyond the reach of any galactic authority. Her design blends martial power with an air of ritual authority, making her equally suited as a warlord, champion, or cult leader in any Sci-fi skirmish game. The sculptor is DakkaDakka, and the quality of the resin casting reflects their high production standards across the range.

Squad size for this listing is one single character miniature. Superglue is recommended for assembly. Primer and hobby paints sold separately.

Painting Guide: Sci-Fi Chaos Cult Female Miniature - Khadessa Varn

The painted example uses a vibrant teal and gold scheme with glowing pink gem accents. Follow the steps below to replicate or adapt this look for your own force.

1. Prime

  • Apply a thin, even coat of grey or white spray primer across the entire model, ensuring full coverage on the recessed cloak folds and helm details.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat all armour plates with a bright teal such as Caledor Sky or Sotek Green.
  • Apply a second thin highlight layer of a lighter teal mixed with white on raised edges to build contrast.

3. Trim and Details

  • Paint all trim, helm horns, belt fittings, and shoulder ring frames with a warm gold such as Retributor Armour or Gehenna's Gold.
  • Shade gold areas with Reikland Fleshshade or Agrax Earthshade and re-highlight with Liberator Gold once dry.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat the sword blade with Mechanicus Standard Grey, then highlight progressively up to White Scar along the centre ridge for a clean metallic blade effect.
  • Paint all gem settings with Screamer Pink, shade with Druchii Violet, and add a small white reflection dot to each gem for a glowing appearance. This approach also suits the Sci-fi cult theme of the model well.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a very dilute wash of Nuln Oil to the cloak folds and lower robes to deepen shadows and add visual weight.
  • Drybrush the cloak lightly with a pale lavender or grey to lift the raised fabric texture.

6. Bases

  • Use a dark textured paste such as Astrogranite Debris, drybrush with Dawnstone, and finish with a few tufts or cracked earth effects to ground the model in a desolate, war-torn setting.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
