“They stopped taking orders after the third year and started taking meat. The trophy racks are full, and still they cleave.”
The Possessed Butchers arrive as a set of three physical resin miniatures, each standing 49mm from feet to eyes, cast in clean grey resin with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready to assemble and paint straight from the box. Supplied unpainted. Each warrior a distinct silhouette and pose that rewards careful assembly and painting.
These are frontline berserker elites built for the most brutal theatres of a grimdark warzone. Each warrior is clad in massive corrupted power armour, bristling with bone spurs, skulls, and barbed trophy racks that speak to countless wars fought and won. Their weapons range from long serrated chain-blades to heavy flanged maces and hooked cleaver-axes, all rendered with the kind of grim mechanical detail that rewards close-up painting as much as it does display on the battlefield. Sculpted by DakkaDakka, these figures carry the same dense, obsessive surface work seen across the range, where every plate is gouged, riveted, and adorned with chaotic iconography.
The squad works equally well as a centrepiece kill-team or as a heavy assault unit embedded in a larger warband. The varied poses, with one warrior bearing his weapon horizontally in a dominance stance and the other two surging forward mid-stride, give the group natural energy when ranked together on a display shelf or gaming board.
Three oval bases are included. The Possessed Butchers are supplied unpainted and unassembled.
Painting Guide: Possessed Butchers
The palette below leans into a classic blood-cult warband look, deep iron armour stained by war and ritual. Adjust the accent colour to suit your own warband colours.
1. Prime
- Spray with a black primer for maximum shadow depth, or use a dark red-brown zenithal under a light grey from above to pre-shade the armour panels.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat all armour plates with a dark iron or leadbelcher equivalent, working in thin coats to preserve surface detail.
- Apply a deep black-brown wash across all recesses and let it pool into the engravings and trophy fixtures.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out studs, rivets, and edging with a bright silver or steel tone, using a fine brush and a steady pull stroke along raised edges.
- Paint bone spurs, skulls, and trophy racks with an off-white base, shade with a sepia wash, and layer back up to a pale ivory at the tips.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat chain-blade and mace heads in a dark steel, then drybrush with a lighter silver to catch the teeth and flanges.
- Add rust and blood-stain effects using a stippled mix of brown and dark red around the blade edges and hook points.
5. Weathering
- Stipple chipped paint effects across armour panels using a sponge or torn blister foam dipped in dark brown, followed by a small silver highlight on the chipped edge.
- Glaze the lower leg plates and boot soles with a thin muddy brown to suggest heavy ground combat.
6. Bases
- Texture paste or fine grit works well for a ruined battlefield look. Finish with tufts of dead grass or scorched earth pigment, and edge the base rim with a matt black.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
