1. Prime

• Apply a grey primer spray for a neutral mid-tone base that suits the quilted costume and cloak equally well.
• Check under the hat brim and inside the cloak folds for any areas that need a second pass with a brush-on primer.

2. Armour Base

• Block in the quilted bodysuit with a deep jewel tone such as burgundy or midnight teal for a classic jester colour split.
• Use a contrasting hue on alternating diamond panels to reinforce the harlequin pattern, keeping the split clean with a fine detail brush.

3. Trim and Details

• Paint the bells, collar ruffles, and button details in a warm off-white or aged ivory to separate them from the costume fabric.
• Pick out the hat trim and cloak lining in a complementary accent colour, such as dusty gold or antique bronze, for visual richness.

4. Weapons

• Basecoat the staff shaft in a medium walnut brown, then apply a streaky highlight along the upper ridge to suggest polished wood grain.

5. Weathering
