The Omega Wave Suit arrives as a single physical resin miniature, standing approximately 125mm tall and spanning 162mm at its widest point, cast in clean grey resin with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready to assemble and paint straight from the box. Supplied unpainted. This is a towering, high-technology battlesuit drawn from a disciplined alien fire caste culture, sculpted with the precise, angular authority of a war machine engineered for overwhelming firepower at range.
The kit comprises 24 parts and includes a generous selection of weapon options, among them rotary multi-barrel cannons and long-range burst arrays, as well as two compact drone turret companions on individual bases. The modular construction allows for meaningful pose and loadout variation, making each finished build a unique centrepiece on the tabletop. The suit itself is posed in a commanding stance over a rubble-strewn base, radiating the cold, calculated lethality of a warrior culture that fights from precision and discipline rather than brute rage.
Sculpted by DakkaDakka, the Omega Wave Suit reflects the studio's characteristic attention to surface detail, with clean panel lines, venting structures, sensor arrays, and weapon housings that reward careful layering and highlighting during the painting process.
This miniature is a centrepiece-grade addition to any sci-fi wargaming collection, equally at home leading a skirmish force or displayed as a showcase piece. Bases and paints are not included.
Painting Guide: Omega Wave SuitThe studio's own painted version uses a bold red and ivory armour scheme with blue glowing energy elements and gold trim, providing a strong starting point. The guide below follows that approach while offering tips for variation.
1. Prime
- Apply a thin, even coat of grey or white primer across all 24 parts before assembly to ensure consistent paint adhesion.
- A white primer will brighten the ivory panels; grey suits the red armour sections equally well.
2. Armour Base
- Base coat the large armour plates in a deep, warm red such as Mephiston Red or equivalent.
- Block in the secondary armour panels and torso front with an off-white or light bone tone, leaving sharp contrast between the two main colour zones.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out the raised trim lines, vents, and mechanical recesses in a warm gold or bronze to add richness between the red and ivory.
- Apply a dark wash, such as Agrax Earthshade or Nuln Oil, into all recesses on both the red and gold areas to add depth and definition.
4. Weapons
- Base the weapon barrels and housings in a dark metallic grey, then drybrush lightly with a bright silver to emphasise the machined surfaces.
- Add spot colour to sensor lenses, muzzle tips, and energy cells using a bright blue or teal, building up to a near-white highlight at the centre to simulate a glowing effect.
5. Weathering
- Apply light chipping with a sponge and a dark brown or black on armour edges, concentrating around joints, feet, and weapon housings.
- Add subtle oil paint streaking in a thin brown from panel joins downward to suggest operational wear without obscuring the clean armour colour beneath.
6. Bases
- The rubble base suits a grey urban rubble treatment. Drybrush in successive lighter greys, then add a thin layer of dark brown wash in the recesses for soil and shadow. Finish with a static grass or dust pigment around the edges.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
