The Odin Daughter 8 is a fierce Norse warrior miniature, arriving as a fully printed and cleaned physical resin figure ready for assembly and painting. She stands in a bold, battle-ready pose, a broad double-headed axe gripped firmly at her side and a round Celtic-knotwork shield raised at her shoulder. Her wild cascade of long, flowing hair tumbles freely behind her, and layered fur-trimmed boots, a studded belt, and intricately detailed armour speak to a warrior forged in the frost and fire of Norse legend.

Sculpted by Mini Realms, this piece captures every strand of wind-swept hair, every rivet on her breastplate, and every carved rune on the decorative round base with outstanding clarity. The detail density rewards close attention, making her a rewarding centrepiece for display or tabletop use alike.

The miniature arrives with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, so you can move straight to assembly and painting. She is cast in high-quality grey resin, with crisp edges that hold washes and dry-brushing beautifully.

Whether she anchors a warband on the tabletop or stands as a display piece on your shelf, this Odin Daughter brings the raw, windswept energy of a Norse shieldmaiden to life in miniature form.

Painting Guide: Odin Daughter 8

The grey resin base colour makes it easy to read shadows and highlights before you pick up a brush. Work from dark to light and take your time on the layered textures to get the most out of this sculpt.

1. Prime

  • Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black spray primer from roughly 30cm away, ensuring full coverage in the recesses of the hair and fur trim.
  • Allow to cure fully before touching the model.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the breastplate and pauldrons with a dark iron or gunmetal tone such as Leadbelcher or Scale75 Speed Metal.
  • Block in the leather straps and belt with a deep brown such as Rhinox Hide or Burnt Umber.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out the helmet horns and decorative edging with a warm brass or aged gold to contrast the cooler steel.
  • Apply a fine line of Agrax Earthshade or a similar sepia wash along the fur trim to define each individual tuft.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat the axe head in the same gunmetal as the armour, then edge highlight with a brighter silver along the blade bevel.
  • Paint the axe haft in a dark wood tone, adding a streaked highlight with a lighter brown to suggest grain.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a thin oil wash or thinned Nuln Oil across all metal surfaces and allow it to pool in the recesses before removing the excess with a damp brush.
  • Add fine scratches to the axe blade and shield rim using a torn piece of blister foam stippled with a bright silver.

6. Bases

  • The runic base pairs well with a mossy stone finish. Basecoat in Mechanicus Standard Grey, wash with Athonian Camoshade in the recesses, and dry-brush the raised runes with a light stone colour such as Ushabti Bone or Rakarth Flesh.
