The palette below leans into warm iron tones, weathered wood, and rich auburn hair to bring this Norse shieldmaiden to life. Work in thin, layered coats throughout for the best results.

1. Prime

• Apply a grey or black zenithal prime to establish natural shadow and highlight before any colour is laid down.

2. Armour Base

• Basecoat plate armour with a dark iron mix such as Leadbelcher or Iron Breaker thinned slightly with medium.
• Apply a wash of Nuln Oil or a dark brown shade into recesses to deepen the metal tones.

3. Trim and Details

• Pick out the winged helmet crest and shield boss with a bright gold such as Retributor Armour, then shade with Agrax Earthshade.
• Paint skull trophies with Ushabti Bone, shaded with Seraphim Sepia for a dry, aged look.

4. Weapons

• Basecoat the axe head with a dark steel tone, then edge highlight with a bright silver along the blade edges to suggest a sharpened weapon.
• Paint the wooden haft with Rhinox Hide, highlighted up with Mournfang Brown in fine strokes along the grain direction.

5. Weathering

• Stipple thin Rhinox Hide along lower armour edges and boot tops to suggest mud and campaign wear.
• Draw fine scratches onto the shield face with a small detail brush loaded with a bright silver, following the direction of imagined sword strikes.

6. Bases

• Drybrush the runic base rim with Dawnstone over a Mechanicus Standard Grey basecoat, then pick out the carved rune panels with a warm amber glaze to suggest glowing inscription work.
