Painting Guide: Odin Daughter 3

This guide walks you through a battle-worn Norse colour scheme to complement the gritty, windswept aesthetic of the sculpt.

1. Prime

• Apply a grey primer spray for a neutral base that lets both warm and cool tones read accurately.
• Follow up with a zenithal highlight in white from directly above to map natural light on the raised surfaces.

2. Armour Base

• Base coat leather armour pieces in a mid-brown such as Rhinox Hide, then layer up with Mournfang Brown on raised edges.
• Pick out metal plates with Leadbelcher or Iron Hands Steel, working from recesses outward.

3. Trim and Details

• Add a warm gold tone such as Retributor Armour to the helm horns and shield boss for visual hierarchy.
• Paint the runic base inscriptions in a deep amber or burnt orange to give them a glowing carved-stone feel.

4. Weapons

• Basecoat the axe haft in a warm wooden brown such as Baneblade Brown, then wash with Agrax Earthshade.
• Drybrush the axe blades with Ironbreaker followed by a touch of Stormhost Silver on the sharpest edges.

5. Weathering

• Apply a thinned wash of Nuln Oil into all recesses across armour and weapons to deepen shadows.
• Stipple a small amount of Typhus Corrosion on the lower blade edges and shield rim for battle-worn character.

6. Bases

• Drybrush the runic base with Administratum Grey over a Mechanicus Standard Grey basecoat, then gloss varnish the rune cuts before a final matte varnish over the whole model.
